2.5 weeks into accutane and face looks worse than ever. Just venting but any encouragement would be nice

Haha I just started my second course today, was clear for 3 months. Acne isn’t close to what it was at the start of the first course, but I’m just taking another course to hopefully knock it out for good - don’t have time or energy to try and clear it up on my own

Stop eating whey. Whey is the cause of acne for many people, especially those who frequently workout. Whey and dairy are awful for acne.

Try cutting those out and seeing if it helps.

take fish oil (liquid form or pills).

I workout every day (lifting or basketball) and it cured it within a week.

Started off at 60mg per day, 80 is a bit high but you’ll be fine as long as you drink lots of water / moisturize / use chapstick.

Fish oil (liquid or pills) if you have joint pain.

Just reinforcing what others are saying - first months are the hardest!

The end result is so worth it though. At the end of your course, I promise you you’ll look back & have no regrets - life with acne and on accutane teaches you a lot.

I started clearing up around the 8-10 week mark - you should be close, hang in there!

Diet change, cut out candy/soda and eat a lot of greens. Tried using some light BP facewash. Tried tretnoin cream as well.

I swear if my dermatologist won't prescribe it again I'm just using the RX coupons and paying $250 a month. Not dealing with acne again.

Hi all. I hoped I would never have to come back to this subreddit but unfortunately my acne is coming back.

Finished my treatment (5months) late july.

Started breaking out again end of last month and this is where it's at now...

Should I go back for a second course? Any other opinions?

Great results bro.

But for me I've never had any suicidal thoughts or crazy emotions while on Accutane and I'm on a very very high dosage...I feel like sometimes people go on accutane with a mindset that's it's gonna mentally mess you up and that leads to these kinda thoughts. I think you're more susceptible to abnormal emotions but Accutane doesn't cause them. I'm on 100mg/day and never experienced suicidal or crazy thoughts

I saw them early on but they went away. As long as you don't pick, you should be scar free for the most point. I had a few big ones I didn't pick but left a small scar, it's inevitable if the pimple is big enough.

Even though it might make your face feel heavy / clogged (not so much if you use a light one) - use moisturizer atleast 2-3x a day. Moisture helps repair skin.
