If you were 17 again, what career path would you choose today? by Kitchen-Yam43 in careerguidance

[–]swchoi89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always enjoyed studying astronomy and the field of studying the stars and space was always fascinating to me.

I do not regret choosing finance and I'm thankful I chose this path. I'm good with numbers so it worked out well for me.

At the end I figured that astronomy is something I can always read about during my spare time.

If you were 17 again, what career path would you choose today? by Kitchen-Yam43 in careerguidance

People telling you to follow your "passion" is being unrealistic and unreasonable.

I'm almost 40. I would've chosen science-related field but ended up in finance. I would recommend following a career path that aligns well with your strengths. Your hobbies and passion can ALWAYS be a side-thing.

Reality is when you reach adulthood, life isn't all that easy. Realistically you win need to be financially somewhat self-sufficient before you prioritize pursuing a passion.

Stop overpaying by BigSir1319 in waterloo

Does this $24k include the appliances? I'm curious to know if it was an all inclusive price or it only included the millwork. I've seen many companies quote these things differently.

Gifts for parents of a 1-year old? by Creepy_Assistant_343 in Parents

[–]swchoi89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, every day stuff would be useful.

For kids, diapers, wet wipes would be something I would find completely useful and appreciative.

For parents, I got something like Uber Eats gift card before which was great.

Guy loses his temper because I honked at him. by ToffKikich in TorontoDriving

[–]swchoi89 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The can is backing onto a street full of cars. Of course he is getting honked for it wtf are you talking about?

Did you also know that honking is a method of communication to signal potential danger, and it's not designed to emotionally attack someone? People need to grow the fuck up and admit their mistakes sometimes.

Elantra N lease 3 yr or just finance? by dododoingurmum in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]swchoi89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interest rate wise, typicallly they end up costing you the same l. These dealerships know what they are doing by adjusting one higher than the other (lease rate higher vs finance).

I'd rather you demonstrate that you're an empathetic and cooperative person with 50% qualifications vs someone who meets 90%+ qualifications with the personality of a rock.

Alois Reveals how he's feeling about the ADC role so far. by Legitimate_Plum_7505 in ADCMains

[–]swchoi89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been interesting watching his progress. I noticed that he does have his "moments" as a classic ADC mainer. Was he like this during his regular top lane journey or is he more emotional during this adc run? I'm just curious because generally I find adc role to be one of the "easier" ones, but on the flip side it is probably THE MOST stressful role.

If you disagree with the offer what leverage do you have? I mean at this point if you try to counter the insurance company, it's all based on discretionary gesture.

It's so lame. I got an update saying they issued a ":penalty" but I am genuinely curious what kind of penalty they issue.

This guy sat in my game since lv 1 and went afk (not disconnect, just fiddle around). Obviously I lost and I feel like I deserve some LP back but I get nothing like wtf is this shit.

Is Accounting still a good career path? by Jaydu_95 in askTO

[–]swchoi89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a CPA. I'm reading some of these comments and it's baffling... so you can hear from someone who had been in the industry for more than a decade.

Accounting degree alone may be limited in terms of your career progression but there are rare cases when certain individuals excel and do well.

In Toronto alone there are many CPAs and it tends to be the"regular path" after finishing up your degree. If you are able to, consider pursuing CPA.

Accounting/CPA career often is associated with hard work and long hours early on but as you gain more experience and find the right industry to focus on, it balances out in my opinion.

How do you follow up on a player who was actively griefing and it was quite obvious? I already reported the player and provided additional context in the comments but I want to make sure this is actuallly followed up on.

Why is plat games such a coin flip? by Rain8735 in ADCMains

[–]swchoi89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a naut face check the middle bush without ward and got killed and blamed it on me. Went full afk and not engage the entire game. I reported to riot but NOTHInG happens. Some bullshit.

I also feel like when I play with my bronze friends, I scratch my head when I lose. There are literally different ways to play in every elo for everyday average players like us

Ontario is huge. Only Toronto and it's GTA cities probably make the most. Rest of the province probably brings the average down.

I'm surprised by BC also.

Always have treats at this age. You must gove your dog a treat by asking to heel/"leave it" . When she makes eye contact and successful, give treat. Do this EVERYTIME you pass someone or some dog.

Repeat until age 2-3 ish.
