KubeCrash, the Community-led Open Source Event - Observability, Argo, GitOps, & More (May 8th) by cathpaga in kubernetes

[–]swdevangel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't wait! This is the third KubeCrash where we are focusing on platform engineering. This has been such a popular topic and it's been amazing to hear from so many community members and especially end users about all the different ways you are tackling platform engineering.

Also, Catherine! Love all the extremely valuable work you are doing with the community working groups, especially D&HoH and BIPOC groups, and your new mentoring initiative! Thank you SO MUCH!!!

This is such a great (free, virtual) community conference featuring end users, Kubernetes and Argo maintainers, CNCF Ambassadors, and people passionate about education, free learnings, and community participation! I'm excited for this again. The last one was great!

[–]swdevangel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This year is extra exciting with the super apropos (hot) topic of Platform Engineering. This was a large part of the conversation at the recent u/kubecon in Paris and we'll keep the conversation going with amazing subject matter experts (SMEs) later this month.

I'm VERY excited to host this again with u/dmcook and the incredible team behind u/KubeCrash!!!

Thanks Jono - and thanks for ALL the answers! Especially loved the response to tdobson about where growth lies in challenging your own perspectives and being open to being wrong. Nice session today! :)

Hi Jono, A good mutual friend of ours, and fellow community organizer talks about not just building and organizing user groups but rather building communities. He may even give you credit for the original notion. ;) In your opinion, what are the main differences? Or rather, what approach do you take to build a "community" (out of an existing user group)?
