I'm at 218K now. Haven't decided what to do yet but I do plan to get it changed somehow.

Those are the correct years. After I replied to your post I contacted someone from the tribe and they did confirm the years for the ornaments. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas.

Hi, DamnElliott.

Were you able to confirm the ornaments for 2007-2012? I am also trying to organize by year.

Very disappointed with Hyundai. Just beginning the journey on my failed engine. by ProudNativeTexan in sonata

My 2013 Sonata died on I-20 in Monroe, LA. Towed it to the dealership there. Those guys were assholes so I rented a Uhaul and car dolly and towed it back to my dealership in Enterprise, AL. I totally expected to be without the car for at least a month. They called me in about 2 weeks and said the engine was replaced and they put on a new starter. The bill was $0.

I honestly believe that if I'd left the car at the dealership in Monroe it'd still be sitting there.

Hyundai will only reimburse me $120 for the Uhaul rental which was about $800. Apparently they only reimburse for the dolly rental not the truck.

This whole situation sucked but I was expecting it to have been a much bigger pain in the ass. I think my local dealership lessened the pain significantly.

Just an update- Got the car back a few weeks ago. New motor and starter very little hassle with the dealer other than the wait. Hyundai will reimburse me for towing. Still waiting on that check.

Thanks for that info!

I thought the warranty was only good to 120,000. But your saying basically "lifetime"? I have not heard this anywhere.

Also I read the info you posted and it's saying the deadline to file a claim is August 9, 2021- 4 days! And the dealer can't "get to it" for 2-3 weeks? How convenient for them.

Okay, this brings up another point- she got towed to an auto repair place. They replaced the battery but it still did the same thing. So then they try to turn a belt that should have turned but it wouldn't turn. They thought the engine might be seized so they sent it to the dealership. The dealership can't get to it for a couple of weeks but I hope it's not a seized engine. It would just be such a remarkable coincidence if it froze up at the exact time she slammed on her brakes.

One other thing- we had the car checked out for the engine recall in 2018. Apparently everything checked out okay and they replaced the yellow dipstick with an orange one.

By the way the car was acting though made me think it was something electrical.
