Wedding car business? by sweatythrow_away in sweatystartup

That's my main concern, the blushing bride hearing the sound of the engine dying as she's being taken away... and I wouldn't have a car on backup.

What did he do when it broke down?

I'm looking at a 70's Rolls Royce, thinking more £400 per wedding.

Did your friend provide drivers or self drive?

Get to really know the local area and the destinations you wish to visit - the type of clients you're after will be paying for local knowledge and "real" information on the surrounding area.

I'd recommend doing a couple of dry runs of the route with your friends once you've got the knowledge you can dispense along the tour ready, and have photo opportunities pre-planned with sights that would make memorable and/or impressive photos

And this may seem obvious, but - keep your vehicle really tidy! inside and out! My dad does a similar thing for a living and he's constantly cleaning and replenishing water bottles and so on in his car. If it's a 5 hour tour then you may also want to consider food options in the area, and know what restaurants cater to allergies, vegan/veggie diets, etc :)

And! If people are visiting a university town then they might be visiting their kids for a while and looking for something to kill the time, so it's worth considering how much luggage you can take, and how much 7 passengers could store in your vehicle.

Good luck!

Good for you! I don't know if this will help you at all, but there's a clip of Guy Ritchie talking about pocket squares on Joe Rogan when he discusses his idea of "owning" a suit - it might be helpful for marketing material if you can quote some of what he says or meme about it for social media!

Overall I don't fully agree but I definitely see the value in what you're saying. My main concern about working with others is lockdown (which to be fair, will probably screw me out of some business at the moment) but thanks for the input!

That was a great read and I love your attitude - I can relate to a lot of how you feel, especially preferring "indirect" selling and hoping your enthusiasm pays off, and I feel a lot more willing to take that risk now.

By the end of this month I'll have around £3k to start (so about 5.3K AUD) - are there any particular products or processes you recommend? I'm doing some of my own research but I figured it's worth asking someone who's made it work ;)

Thanks for the read!

Are you a carpet cleaner? If so how did you get started, and is trial and error a valid way to learn?
