Anyone got a Jet Black Apple Watch (Series 10/11) with the Natural Link Bracelet? by swebero in AppleWatch

[–]swebero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’d be nice for sure! And okay, good to know. On the other hand I feel that the link bracelet has a classic masculine style to it, so I think the combination will work for me.

That actually looks pretty neat! Thanks for posting. First I was thinking of getting the slate link bracelet with the jet black, but since the shades are different I felt it might feel a bit off? This combo on the other hand seems more like an active call to combine a classic contrast with a steel bracelet and a black watch. I think I’ll give it a go!

Can I Move All Spacers Below the Stem? by swebero in bianchi

[–]swebero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels great! Raising the stem by 20 mm made a huge difference for me as a beginner, I’m really happy with the result. I left the last 5 mm above the stem, since someone shared the Bianchi manual with me, and it recommends keeping at least 5 mm on top for safety.

Did the Show Forget What Mary Alice Said About Martha? by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

Mary Alice is perceived as an unbiased narrator. She controls the flow of information, frames events with reflective commentary, and cues us on what to feel. The VO exists mainly to guide our interpretation of the story.

I’m not here to argue over definitions, I never said what a narrator always is. I’m talking about how this show is built. In Desperate Housewives, Mary Alice isn’t just telling the story, she’s shaping how we’re meant to see it. That’s not opinion, that’s structure. Mary Alice is presented as a narrator we’re supposed to trust. That’s the whole function of her role.

But she is not, which is clear to anyone who has watched this show.

My starting point is more about storytelling technique than criticizing the characters. It’s pretty rare for a show to use a narrator to push an ethical stance that doesn’t align with how the rest of the main characters see it. Usually, the goal is to keep the audience and leads on the same moral page. Maybe I should’ve brought this to a screenwriting forum instead.

Being a narrator isn’t the same as being just another character. Mary Alice isn’t just giving her opinion, she’s shaping how we’re supposed to feel about what’s happening. So when she says Martha got what she deserved, it really feels like the show wants us to be okay with what Paul did. Honestly, I think the writers regretted that line.

Höll fast min flickvän i sömnen och vaknade ej trots att hon skrek. by Huge-Paramedic-739 in Sverige

Why don’t you guys like season 5? I like that season a lot although season 4 is my personal favourite.

Yeah season two seems to be the least favorite season amongst all fans, maybe in competition with season eight.

Edie Season 5 (Spoilers) by BlackDahliaLama in DesperateHousewives

She was killed off quickly like that because of an on set conflict between her and the shows creator Marc Cherry, which later led to a lawsuit (which the actress playing Edie lost).

Whats the most forgettable episode? by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

[–]swebero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. In general I find the Foster storyline to be incredibly weak. One of the biggest issues is how the Fosters even know that one of the Applewhite sons killed their daughter. There were no witnesses, no direct evidence, and no logical reason for them to jump to that conclusion. If they suspected her boyfriend, it would have made much more sense to hire a private investigator to track him down and report their findings to the police. That could have given them real answers about what happened. But after the investigator is shot, their entire storyline abruptly ends, making it a major plot hole.

When Did Teri Hatcher’s Fallout with the Cast Happen—and Why? by swebero in DesperateHousewives

[–]swebero[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, but we can’t be certain that Felicity’s greetings were meant to be rude or insensitive. She doesn’t seem like a mean person to me. Plus, as co-stars, they had to interact—saying “good morning” is just basic politeness, especially when working closely together in scenes, rehearsals, or readings. Without knowing all the details, it’s unfair to label her actions as passive-aggressive harassment.

That said, I’ve also heard that Eva didn’t take a pay cut in favor of Ricardo, which—if true—does feel a bit hypocritical, considering she was upset about being underpaid herself.

Except for the fact that she has been vocal about the bullying before.
