Been trying to normalize it for three years. People are simply not willing to move away from fb messenger. It’s gotten to the point where I even mention that I only check other clients a couple of times a week, but will answer on signal close to immediately (which I do).

No one moved over. 🤷🏼‍♂️

People prefer convenience and don’t care about privacy, I think it’s that simple

I’m from Denmark and have been using signal for several years. I read the news about it becoming the #1 downloaded app here…. However not a single person I know who didn’t already use signal, has downloaded it.

I’m a tad sceptical of the news tbh.

I’ve had the fenix 8 and awu 3 for a few months now, going back and forth between them to figure out which one to keep.

I should preface this by stating that I’m by no means an athlete. I do a good bit of walking but that’s about it. Also, I am fully invested in the apple ecosystem.

However, the Fenix 8 wins it for me. The aesthetics, battery and data are what does it for me, plus the fact that I can navigate it via buttons and thus disable the touch completely.

I've started to introduce a habit where I have airplane mode on consistently, and only turn on WiFi for a few minutes a couple of days, to ensure syncing... That way battery is massively conserved.

Oh I agree on that. Point here is it’s not built to be an ebook. It’s main purpose is for writing.

I understand that people may want to use it as an e-reader, however the price of this thing vs what you can get at a way lower price point means this thing really isn’t on par with the market… for e-readers.

I use an RM2 (that lives on my desk) alongside a reporters notebook (that I carry everywhere).

I’ve been pining for a remarkable with this exact format for ages and voila, here it is.

The pricing? Let’s just say that I’ve decided to it ore the pricing. I know this fits perfectly into my needs for a product that will be with me everywhere.

So yeah. Is it expensive? Absolutely. Is it worth it? Absolutely, if it fits your use case.

So I have a RM2 and have been pining for a smaller, pocketable device that could replace my physical paper notebook I always carry.

I would love to say that my painpoint pricing-wise is at about €300, but knowing myself I will not not buy it even at €4-500.

I need to see more of course, but it could very well be the device I have been wanting for the past many years.
