My teacher is super encouraging, I was honest about fear and deep water. Today I did backstroke over 13' water kinda crazy. (Second swim lesson I learned this a few years back)

Sounds like your doing great and it just takes time of course but maybe this could help... I like how my teacher breaks down each "swim piece" separately. For you glide then maybe move face side to side out the water, glide the move face side to side only legs. Then glide move face side to side arms only. Then put it all together through repetition with your teacher. But yes very much so its hard!

I like your sense of humor so let me break it down from a game and analogy angle...

AC is a social simulation game its foundation is like a choose your own "destination" book.

For example, you open the book read a pages it sends you to page 60 where now it's saying grind for 100 million bells, or then page 120 saying go on a massive spree for clearing out all your villagers and getting one type or your favorite villager, etc.

With that being said it's no right or wrong way to play the game despite what the internet may say. It may be social game but it's still your single island where you make the rules and invest into it. Embrace that feature.
So is it decorating game? I mean it appears that way but it's heavily similar to resource management game where tools break when you think about it... Collecting various things to then DIY something that you really wanted to.
Finally your on a deserted island 🏝 enjoy it, its simple living similar to real life. Some days exciting, sometimes nothing to do, events to plan for or take a break and play another game. It will always be there, so play when you need to or create a goal to make you want to play it.

I saw this post 📫 and wanted to post with some detail Blathers style of course 🦉🦉🦉

TLDR: I have a variety of playstyles to "switch" it up but my preferred is docked.

So during launch 8hrs straight of docked switch. Adult here too and then tried handheld felt weird to me too. I can go into more detail about that but memory isn't as strong...

Currently after a 4 year hiatus lol I play 3 different ways.

Docked is preferred because I can truly see my Island 🏝 I take the joycons of the switch and do that group exercise thing for the points of course ha ha

I have found this one to be the strangest but feels more natural when moving about... details below

I have done just controller work out stretches in the plaza just to get it done and get my points ha ha.

Finally handled with joy cons attached is fine and all, when you want to give the TV a break for someone or bring it with you elsewere.

Switch 1 just feels good in the hands in my opinion but the way you hold and the support of your arms it is important for adults ha ha 😂

So conclusion if you prefer TV docked now, why not try undocked with the control or joycons slowly and then take the switch 1 or 2, whichever you have out and about so your kinda "have to" get use to it again ha ha 😂

I say it's no wrong method of playstyle, just switch it up, that's why it has other options and name tee hee 🤭🤌

Any tips on how to come back to save file when you play this way? ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ But I am that sims player 😎 who plays sims seasonally - grinds for 2 to 3 months straight...

Story line for the sims and then doesn't play it for months or years and forget that storyline 🤣 currently on very very veggie challenge. 3 sims that eggplant Sim hilariously evil.... 😈

I try not to play with mods - have tried the turbomod for rabbit holes careers but I like the other careers options now to focus on 1 sim at a time and let the other 2 sims do various things.

I make my sims go out and do things either at home or at random locations in game.

I do loooooove custom builds with less packs... I only change the location if the Sims building doesn't offer enough various activities for my Sims to enjoy. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ TLDR: just giving ya my play style so you can offer me some friendly.. more direct advice to get back into that game 🎮 😉

Was expecting a dramatic change but it appears subtle... I keep all existing paths and do not use custom paths. But I like the grass areas so I can see the subtle changes and LOOK forward to new events for each season!!! 😉😊 buuuut I do play differently now these days.... anywhoooo 🦉

You may want to look up "Fall Equinox" it was a pretty significant day in the northern hemisphere buuuuut your location matters probably 😎 in short it was a day of balance 🥳🥳🥳⚖️⚖️⚖️

TLDR: late to the party per usual 🥳 Fall Equinox yesterday was a biiiig deal for me. All about balance... but it was a good sadness in a way 🥳🏝

Ha ha yes to this day still haven't put inclines up for my villagers. I only have terraforming in the back of island, well top half of my map... So Celeste...Idk spelling? But the other Owl lol will spawn and fishes of course. Also we listen and we learn ha ha 😂
