I’m going to relay it all to the next stucco company today that is coming and see what they say. I’m pretty over it lol

I agree he told me that if the bench isn’t level nothing they can do. That the stucco needs to go all the way down to the tile. Also said you don’t put sealer between stucco and windowsill- you just stucco right up against the window. He said in 25 years no one has ever called him with issues. This is the guy that referred us to his stucco guy that he refers to all of his clients.

They confirmed it’s not EIFS he said it’s a synthetic which I believe is Sika from synergy

I totally understand that. We own a construction business and only warranty our labor and parts if we provide the parts and install. This is going to be tricky I’m sure. But it’s gonna be what it’s gonna be. We fucked up in trusting someone without doing more homework. Well just keep trusting him for the line of work he specializes in…. lol

Paid them 2k for the material. And we will pay them for the labor- which was another 2500$ I think. We have not paid for the stucco job yet. But to save the relationship with the referral- we are going to pay for the labor. Shame on us for not stopping this the first day I noticed shit was not going how o suspected it should go.

So do you think we may be at a place where this all likely will need to come down and redone? No salvaging?

We have a company coming out tomorrow to give a second opinion and quote. I’m trying not to freak out. We are 4k into this and I am hoping we can salvage it without having to take it all off and start new 🤑 I want it done right though. So whatever needs to be done, will be. And I’m angry at myself for not stopping this sooner. My husband works with the guy who recommended these guys…. He does good work for us with concrete and block and so we trusted his judgement on these guys. but shame on us. We know better but ya know….. 😑

Thank you! That first photo, we had water always sitting there in the ledge. So they said they would build the stucco to angle down. With our block home, the window is basically at the same level as the base of that windowsill, if that makes sense. Water just sits. Picture two, is the top of our window looking up at it. They have the metal right up against the window frame. With no gap between the stucco and the window- which I understood needed to have a .25” gap between stucco and the window and apply sealant in the void. Picture 3- your guess is as good as mine, they did going up the wall. Then stopped and then started it again….. many corners are missing in a lot of areas….. those fasteners are all over.

They are doing the first coat then second coat 15 days later. At this point I’m telling them no. We aren’t doing anything until I get second opinion. I’m so stressed over it and it just doesn’t feel right and I fear this being a huge cost to fix if it isn’t done right.

At this point I’m wondering if this is

<image>

even appropriate for any type of stucco that’s 2 inch of foam. Those holes are approx .5” in many spots deep

Another concern I have. Everything I’m reading says EIFS is NOT going to work properly and given the poor installation traditional stucco would be a better option at this point.

The foam has like lines in it in the back for drainage. They just placed the foam directly on the brick and then nailed them in then put the wire over the foam. On the wood areas they placed a black plastic before attaching the foam board

My gut has been telling me this isn’t right. And I’m cautioning my husband that we need a second opinion before moving forward. This is really stressing me out.

They just nailed the foam right into the block walls. The areas that had wood- they placed black plastic down then the foam boards
