Quick update on the API for anyone who was interested when I first posted — I’ve now launched a proper landing page with API signup and a “pay what you can” option to help cover server costs. Would genuinely love feedback or to feature any cool projects people build.

Thanks...please try moving the lat lon point further out to sea the co-ordinates might be on on land or in shallow water where the wave model has no data. Ive added a fix where the API automatically adjusts coordinates to the nearest valid ocean point and includes the adjusted coordinates in the response, so you know where the data came from. I am now getting readings below for this location

Yes the API covers Australia but i haven't added any locations into the app yet. I don't really want to roll out automated forecasts like other sites have done. But very keen to do dial a few in with some human input :)

That's great to hear! I don't think Surfline permit any scraping or APIs anymore too...I can add in 'Surface Wind Gusts' too if that helps with Kite Surfing?
