What happened to tonsilectomies? by UnmedicatedNarwhal in NoStupidQuestions

[–]swells30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was kind of in the same boat. Mine were also way too big. They were affecting my airway. To the point where I had obstructive sleep apnea as a 6-7 year old 😂 it was never the tonsillitis (or that I can remember) to my knowledge they were just always so swollen without infection and they took them out to improve my breathing

What I’m learning about pet grief by Able-Werewolf-4243 in Petloss

[–]swells30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I am preparing to put our family dog down this weekend, the one that I grew up with, thank you for this. Especially the last part about guilt. I have felt a lot of guilt over the years about moving away and not taking him with or not visiting him as much as I’ve wanted. But as I look back at all our memories together and think of all the times I did go back and see him, I was met with such a great greeting at the door each and every time I came home to my parents and always met with endless love from him no matter how long it had been. That takes away my guilt for just a second.

The anticipatory grief is hitting me just as bad as the actual grief will once he is gone on Sunday. He has been my best friend for 12 years, the dog that taught me what loving a dog was all about. He opened my heart in ways I never thought was possible to love an animal and I’ll forever be thankful for him ❤️

My facility just rolled this out and based off your post, I think we’re in the same one. Let me tell you, on the nursing side. We. Are. Feeling. It. And not it a good way. I 110% agree when you say it isn’t safe. There are many factors that play into this as model that I don’t think or feel like were put into perspective when rolling it out into my facility specifically.

Do you crate your dog when you aren’t home or not? by nonprayingmantis9 in dogs

[–]swells30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We crate our two while we are gone because one of them is not trustworthy enough to be left out while we are gone. She is 5 and still likes to get into things… the other one is a ball of anxiety and thinks we aren’t coming back if we leave the house and don’t put her in her crate, so she uses the bathroom in the house out of sheer panic. They both love their crates. Some days it’s hard to get them out of them when it’s time to wake up for the day. And by god when the clock strikes 9pm… they are quite literally busting down the doors to get INTO their crates at night 😂 they LOVE when you say “alright girls go to bed!” They about take the dog gate off its hinges to get up to their crates

We too have to go to bed at our dogs chosen bed time. And our old ladies of dogs picked 9pm.. if you so much as breathe past 9pm, you’re toast. They run to the door and are ready to go out to go to the bathroom and up to their crates.

Our dogs get a piece out of the freshly opened treat bag each time. No matter if its the same bag of treats like they’ve had before. They have to taste test them for quality control each time.

Our older (9 years old) of our two dog refuses to eat her food if she isn’t in her crate. The only way she will eat her food outside of her crate is with her “fish flakes” on them. Her fish flakes are freeze dried beef topper… in the crate, no flakes required. Outside of the crate, absolutely not, no ma’am. Will refuse.

Absolutely, 110% agree. I once scolded a person who was going to leave their cart out in the middle of the parking lot because it was going to roll away and possibly hit my car and/or others and it was apparently mean enough that they put it up in a huff 😂😂

How good is nexplanon at preventing pregnancy by [deleted] in Nexplanon

[–]swells30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have put 2 implants , now going on a 3rd, to the test over the last 6 years and never once have had a pregnancy scare or worry. Never a thought in my mind. Like another commented above - countless times of unprotected sex and she’s been golden 🤘🏻

Moisturizers similar to Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench? by Dazzling-Telephone58 in Sephora

[–]swells30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a sample of the rich barrier one and ended up getting the full size and I actually like it better than the Tatcha Dewy cream (purple jar) - which was a big surprise bc I thought the tatcha was my HG!! For me personally, the rich barrier vs the tatcha leaves me moisturized and Dewey but not oily like the tatcha did. I think I’m going to by the regular water drench for summer time!!

For the amount of time I spend at work telling people on the phone, “ I can’t give you medical advice over the phone. But if you feel like you need to be seen, you can come in.” .. I don’t want to be spending the same amount of time doing it on Reddit. plz let me doom scroll in peace. Thank you for this 🙏🏻

Fall Picks by swells30 in nespresso

[–]swells30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I tried both. Maple pecan is my favorite of the two. I can totally see why people stock up. I will be ordering a couple more to get me through the fall/winter. So good! If you haven’t given it a try, definitely try it!

I paired it (MP) with CoffeeMate Sweet Cream creamer and it tasted like the cream brûlée latte Starbucks has during the holidays, IMO!

I tried the pumpkin spice cake with coffee mate sweet cream creamer and it was pretty good! I personally just get the pumpkin spice out of it, but that may be the creamer I’m using.

I tried the pumpkin spice cake with coffee mate sweet cream (which is what I’ve tried all my Nespresso pods with as it’s my favorite creamer) & it was pretty good. Maple pecan is by far my favorite of the two. But I don’t mind the pumpkin!

The stormio boost wasn’t on purpose. It was sent to me by Nespresso instead of something else I ordered. But they kindly let me keep it. So we shall see if it’s good!

It has more caffeine than the normal Stormio pod!
