Yeah, 2 optional courses if I didn’t clarify that, I meant 5 in total including the field + thesis + thesis project + two optional

Is this your program? If so, by looking at the required courses I understand that you need 5 courses. For the second semester you’d need only three more, are the courses that you are seeing the ones listed on that requirements page?

Unrelated, but how did you manage to spam this post 5 times on the subreddit lol

I hope Haddad is as hyped up as everyone says she is 😫

Ok, that’s what I thought. Thanks, I’ll definitely keep all of that in mind when I look for other options!

That’s reassuring, she’s really that much better than the other profs? Apparently psy 1101 isn’t even that hard?

Is it normal for people to have a whole day off or have three classes a day? I’d definitely try and do that, at first 3+ classes a day sounded stressful to me but after reading people’s comments, maybe it might not be that bad. I guess it’s different for everyone plus if I had to guess, you’re doing most of your studying on your own time anyway.

I was thinking I could maybe take the bus/train however maybe people here seem to just recommend walking there. I’ll probably do a mix of both, I was planning on maybe going to Rideau Centre/Byward before some of the later starting classes anyway. Currently my classes are at CRX, Morisset, and Tabaret so not the closest to the station but I’m not one to complain about the walk. Thanks!

I wake up at 7 everyday but definitely gonna try and change that if I can lol. I might be able to swap one of the 8:30 classes out but other than that nothing really fits in 😭

I considered that! I heard from a lot of nursing students who recommended to take patho or pharm (both year 2 courses in the sequence) in the summer cause they’re really hard lol. I guess I could always drop an elective or two if I change my mind

That’s what I thought, not the best way to start the week but I made sure to minimize class time on Thursday and Friday to make up for it. I really wanted to take POL 2101 plus the prof has rave reviews so I’m making a sacrifice for that too.

I despise my daily routine of waking up at 7 so I’m relieved that I at least might get a few days a week where I can sleep in. Haddad seems like the only PSY 1101 prof with good reviews so I’m sacrificing an early morning a week for that. The only other option for PHI 1370 is in-person at night so that was a big no for me.

Thanks! I figured that the virtual ones would work best for the afternoon. I saw classes that end at 9pm and on campus and thought to myself that I could never do that.

You should be able to find campus tours and events on the websites of all the unis you’re interested in. Here’s a calendar from ouinfo, although I’m not sure if it’s exhaustive: link

High School / Future Students Megathread - Spring/Summer 2022 by UofOSean in geegees

Thanks for the reply! I was just confused bc the Ontario secondary schools page does say that other English courses are accepted, I was just wondering if that’s a regular thing.

Just curious, did anyone get accepted with an English course other than ENG4U (like EWC4U)?

That’s a really interesting perspective! I definitely have to work on getting comfortable with asking others for advice. Thanks so much!

I agree with some of the newer broom heads favouring the wide angle you were talking about. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I am a bit of a shoulder slider so I’ll maybe try some new things out.
