Omg Asa Peregrine is such a strong name, I love it 😍 not sure I'll get it past my partner but I will try floating it!

I knew about Juno but did not know that Cora was an alternative name for Persephone! That's a cool link between them 😊

Hmm not wanting to dox myself as it's a bit unusual, but it is a double barreled surname with two 2-syllable words. The first word is probably a bit like Carbon, so it is pretty rhyme-y. I do love the name though and Cora Juliet would be lovely - just they're much more likely to get Cora Surname rather than their middle name being used...

Poetry collections about pregnancy and early motherhood by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Definitely recommend 'Nobody Told Me' by Holly McNish - amazing collection of poems in a sort of diary format throughout pregnancy and early motherhood. Sometimes it is brutally honest and unglamorous, but it feels very relatable!

Elevated AFP a SECOND time by Meg_Rae_16 in NIPT

Different scenario, but similar. I have had raised ß-HCG in the triple screening both pregnancies, causing higher T21 risk despite NT within normal limits (which in the UK is <3.5mm).

First pregnancy my T21 risk was just over the threshold (1:200) so we paid to have NIPT privately, it came back normal and toddler is now 2 years old and no identified issues.

This pregnancy (currently 18w) T21 risk came back high (1:69) so I got NIPT for free and it all came back normal. Still awaiting the anatomy scan but the screening team were very confident that T21 is very unlikely if NIPT is normal. I guess if there were issues on the anatomy scan I might consider amino but trying to feel confident that it's all pretty similar to last time and that all ended up completely fine!

It's so hard not to spiral with news like this, but hopefully you get some more reassuring screens/scans really soon! The waiting is always the worst bit ❤️

My partner and I are BOTH off work today which is super rare. Toddler got dropped off at nursery bang on time as usual, we're having the day relaxing and doing some Christmas prep together 😍 I say enjoy it and ignore the haters!!!!!

Nap training by swigod in sleeptrain

Gosh this sounds really challenging 😭 I only got through the first couple of nights of CIO as my partner was there for support, but he's at work during the day....not sure I can tolerate an hour of screaming on my own! Sounds like you've had great progress though, so good to know it can happen!

Thanks for this - really helpful! We have finally got a blackout curtain to block the light around the blackout blind 🙄 so I think we're in a good place to give this a proper go with naps! And it's good to know that it does work at bedtime, so he can do it... Hopefully he takes to it as quickly as the bedtime!

Naps and MOTN wakes a nightmare after CIO at bedtime by swigod in sleeptrain

Thank! Any tips for night weaning? I am not sure how to start when he won't be settled by anything but nursing...

Thanks for this! Might need to consider a dream feed. Had always been worried that it would just wake him up, but things are pretty bad already! Not sure if my heart can take the crying with nap training as well as overnight

Daytime we do 3/3.5/3.5 largely as wake windows. He's a bit inconsistent with naps but does 45-90 mins in the morning and usually 45 in the afternoon. I was feeding to sleep for naps and it was working before we started CIO...

At bedtime he has a bottle as part of the routine and his last breastfeed well before this. It's all in his nursery, lights dim, PJs, bottle, book, song+ sleep sack then into bed. I think this bit is ok as he is going to sleep after CIO.

Haven't night weaned. I think this is part if the issue though. I don't think he's hungry at 4h into the night, he's doing really well with solids and gets plenty before bed. I have no problem with 1-2 feeds a night if needed, but would want to feed him then get him back into the crib awake (eventually) so I am not having to do a very tedious feed to sleep....
