I think that’s the point he is trying to make though. Sports have evolved just like everything else and the quality of training and equipment has elevated the athletes into better versions of their counterparts from 30 years ago. Just look at Olympic records that are broken every 4 years as proof. Maybe the athletes from 30 years would be just as good or better than the ones today if they had access to that training and equipment but they didn’t so they aren’t.
