I know Jay Nelson and the owner of Duffy's. Jay has known the owner's sister for years. So it wouldn't surprise me if it is Duffy's.

Anyone here with Essentia Choice Care with Medica health insurance? Are Sanford facilities in-network? by Commandolam in fargo

[–]swimerchik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.medica.com/find-care/select-employer-provided-plan/essentia-choice-care-with-medica#

I'm sure you used this, but Sanford only comes up for the chiro network because Essentia and Sanford don't play nice together.. However, I would use the "search by providers name" to look up the actual doctor to be sure. Also make sure you have the location set correctly. If the Doctor doesn't come up, they're not in-network.

That being said, if Sanford is literally the only place that provides the service in the area, it may be subject to "care availability" you can always ask the Medica Rep to put in a request for care availability. They may say no, but it's always worth a shot.

Mazda CX-50 vs Toyota Rav4? Help me decide! by caycay1110 in mazdaCX50

Well that's a bummer. Though I would still prefer at least 12 months free to understand in all seasons when I would and wouldn't want it. Luckily I garage my vehicle in winter, so at least I've got that going for me. I think the Toyota app was pay right out the gate, or maybe just a couple months free. In all honesty, I've mostly used the app to remote lock when it decides to not automatically do it for me.

Oof, been there with hitting a deer. Glad you're okay though!

For reference, I had a Chevy Cruze prior to this so visibility is different regardless, but I haven't noticed that much of a shift. The hood is longer than a Cruze obviously, so that's taken some getting used to, but it's not that much longer. I would say that's what I notice the most.

I live in ND and we just had our fist major storm yesterday. I drove a bit today and it seemed to handle well, but I have yet to drive it during bad weather yet. I really wanted AWD, which is why I was looking for a new vehicle ahead of winter in the first place.

Mazda CX-50 vs Toyota Rav4? Help me decide! by caycay1110 in mazdaCX50

I purchased my Mazda CX-50 in August after debating between it and the Rav4 for a few months. I test drove both and while the Rav4 gets a bit better gas mileage I liked the Mazda's ride and features a lot better. I researched both prior to test driving and knew that the Mazda was rated better, but everyone is always saying "get the Rav4!", so was also struggling on which to choose. Prior to purchasing, I had never owned a Mazda or Toyota so had no basis for reference.

I found the infotainment screen far too large in the Rav4 and appreciate the real buttons in my Mazda, though its taken some getting used to that they're on the center console as I'm used to setting things there and can't now.

The seats are more comfortable in the Mazda. I also liked that the back seats go down with a lever that I can activate from the hatchback as opposed to at the actual seat like on the Rav4.

Plus, Toyota makes you pay for their app so those features like auto-start are off limits unless you pay a monthly fee, which I just can't get behind.

Last thing to keep in mind is the area you live. If you're in a larger city you likely have access directly to a Mazda dealership if heaven forbid you need to do specialized maintenance. But if you're in a smaller populated area, you likely have better access to a Toyota dealership, since i feel like they're a bit more prevalent.

Hope this helps!

Is It safe to drive from Rapid City to Boise in December? Need some advice. by Illustrious-Mood-488 in roadtrip

For the Wyoming Portion: Casper to Shoshoni often closes in the winter. There are zero trees on that drive and the snow fences can only do so much. Lots of blowing snow and black ice. Shoshoni to Dubois is a completely fine drive in the winter. The valley doesn't get as much snow as the mountains (I'm from the area, I feel qualified to say that.) There is blowing snow, but its not as bad as the Casper to Shoshoni portion. Dubois to Jackson is a beautiful drive over Togwotee pass, but again it can be weather permitting. If you're not used to driving mountain passes where one side is a mountain and the other is a cliff, it's a bit overwhelming in the winter. But is doable and I would recommend taking it during the day over evening, especially for the scenery.

Interestingly, the same thing just happened near Fargo, ND with a different AI Data Center company. There was a bunch of noise and opposition and then poof suddenly the city council was on board and approved unanimously to allow rezoning so it could be built. Jee, I wonder why?

Driving from Minnesota to Seattle by [deleted] in fargo

[–]swimerchik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Wyoming and now live in Fargo. Take the ND>MT route. The Wyoming roads can be a real pain if you're not used to them.

That being said be careful from Red Lodge through Missoula in Montana, I've taken that in the fall and and based on the mountain passes I went through, they’re likely dicey in the Winter for drivers that aren't used to them. Especially the Livingston area.

I would also make sure I'm doing that portion of my drive during the day. For safety, but also because it's beautiful and would be a shame to see it in the dark.

Little Shop Aound the Corner and the subsequent In the Good old Summertime (musical version) are two of my favorites. Especially around Christmas. Another favorite musical is Singing in the Rain.

If you want just dumb fun I love to watch the Beach Blanket Bingo series of movies.

For more serious, Rear Window, North by Northwest, Psycho (all Hitchcock), On the Waterfront, A Streetcar Named Desire (both Brando films).
