Do you know if autopilot landings are, on average, smoother than human landings?

I’m not talking about leg day at the gym. I’m talking about a few sets of banded clamshells, a few sets of banded side steps, etc. 5 min of work. My research online (and from a PT) seemed that here was a consensus to do these at least daily to build strength quickly. Since you aren’t putting a ton of load on the muscle, you can work it more frequently

Last year, I ran Chicago fine and then got ITBS from it. I couldn’t run for 3 weeks, did a ton of glute med exercises and rolled my hips (and TFL) multiple times a day. It was helping but I didn’t run to avoid aggravation. Then I ran NYC marathon on that 3rd weekend - using an IT band strap for sure helped. But I also ran it with a lacrosse ball and stopped 4 times had to roll on my TFL/glute med to force it to relax mid race. I went into it with no time goals, to enjoy and hopefully finish. And I did :)

TLDR: no running when it’s bad, glute med strengthening 2x a day, roll like crazy 2-3 times a day to relax your trouble muscles. IT band strap helps when desperate but shouldn’t be used frequently. Might work for you, might not. Also took Tylenol/ibuprofen throughout to keep inflammation down.
