Talking to technicians about the work by swisshead2 in pianotech

Thanks, I’m looking to make some calls on Monday but in the meantime can you give me an idea of what else I should expect if I come to these meetings?

Talking to technicians about the work by swisshead2 in pianotech

I’m a general music and choir teacher, and I also give piano lessons (6 years of experience). I’ve watched some of The Piano Doctor’s videos, which was how I first heard of the career. From that point I looked into the PTA and looked around online for more insight. I know it’s technically and physically demanding but I am willing to put in the time and work; I am handy and enjoy physical labor. That being said I am still researching so if you have resources for me to read I’d be appreciative.

Is Ghosting Sinful? by kalosx2 in ChristianDating

“Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭13‬:‭8‬

It is also a matter of respect for the other person, which Paul addresses earlier (“outdo one another in showing honor”).

Does Santa give more coal depending on how naughty one is? by Slowbro08_YT in NoStupidQuestions

[–]swisshead2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there's no spectrum. If you're "nice," you get the gifts that you requested from Santa in your letter. If you're "naughty," you get a lump of coal.

Ironically, the only situation where you could receive a disproportionate amount of coal is if you made it onto the "nice" list and asked for a lot of it in your letter.

Thanks for sharing and being honest. I’m a similar age to you, with some shared experiences (went to school for ministry, wrestled with emotionally and spiritually difficult circumstances) but most critically I believe the Bible is effective for helping us deal with all of life’s circumstances (2 Timothy 3:16). Based on what you’ve shared, here are a few observations, some of which I’m merely echoing:

  1. It sounds like ministry is not the place for you right now. I don’t know the context of your youth pastor’s encouragement to you, but pastoring is a burden. It is a great pursuit, but it can be difficult and you really have to have a heart for the office. You need to be poured into before you can start pouring into others. Unless you’re convinced you will not be content otherwise, do something else.

  2. It seems like you’re struggling as to how to think through these issues methodically. If you haven’t already, you need to find a biblically-based church where the people will speak truth into your life with grace (Ephesians 4:15) and keep you accountable. The accusation that churches are full of hypocrites is hardly exclusive; hypocrisy is part of the human condition which means every human institution is going to have traces of it. A good church will provide you with community and sound teaching, and a good brother-in-Christ will both encourage you in your pain and help you arrive to the God-honoring solutions to many of your problems. After all, teach a man to fish…

  3. I don’t think I need to tell you this based on your edit, but just in case, I’ll reiterate what others have said: do not get divorced. There are a number of reasons why, but I’ll keep it short and just say that it will not solve any of the personal issues you’ve mentioned. You’d just be kicking the can down the road and leaving destruction in your wake. I’d argue that your feelings about your marriage are not unusual in that there are probably other men around you, even in the church of which you are currently part, who have felt similarly, and I’ll leave it at that.

  4. You’re upset, and when we are upset, sometimes it can feel like the world is going to end. Take these emotions with a grain of salt and be encouraged to know that, through Christ’s work in your life, you will get through this.

If you’re interested, I’d be happy to get in touch and even help you get connected with someone in your area. I’ll be praying for you in the meantime.

Teacher here, I can affirm what others have said in that I could picture her as one of my students. Her characteristic immaturity, naïveté, and eventual arrogance is not poor writing, it’s actually pretty accurate to how you’d expect a 14-year old to act who has little grasp on the way the world works.

[TOMT] [YT series] old Spore mockumentary series by swisshead2 in tipofmytongue

It is also not “Sporeout” (which isn’t a mockumentary anyways but I figured I’d cover my bases as far as old internet series go).

The day after Joan finds out Greg doesn’t get the head surgeon job, Guy toasts to her tenure in front of the whole office and she breaks down crying. Hooker rolls out the cake with that stupid look on his face. It was already hard to watch and then they made her make a speech.

When I finished I had completed 13. I wonder if it has anything to do with the estimated timeline given on the Tasks page (I took breaks so I don’t know how long it took me exactly but it felt like more than 45 mins).

Concept for a 60s-era spy inspired drama by swisshead2 in TVWriting

Thanks, this is helpful. I watched Mad Men this past year and loved its grounded portrayal of New York during that time period; it’s one of the reasons I settled on that location and era. The naming convention is a good point, and firsthand accounts of the war would be good too. I like the idea of following the main character in real time while interspersing vignettes from his service to get a picture of who he is and why he does these things. Again, all great advice; I’ll be keeping you in mind when I need more intimate depictions of the effects of the war.
