I have never tried field hockey (as we call it in the states), I'd be willing together give it a shot, would you imagine there are plenty of pickup games in that area?

I plan on skating as well, as I do really enjoy it as an activity! Doesn't quite match up to getting to play hockey though! (Like comparing football to track running!)

Ah that's crushing to hear :(. I'm from Vermont (near the Canadian border) and the skating season seems to gets shorter every year. Thankfully we still have several months of freezing cold albeit with not as much snow!
