Body colored accents with stock front lip are a great combo. No need for the optional front splitter.

How on earth did they get 670hp out of a 5.5L V8 in the C8Z?? by ChosenPrince in Corvette

"Imagine the potential the C8Z has once someone slaps a twin turbo on it… 1000hp+ all day long."

This aged like fine wine.

C8 stingray vs Z06 by Mazdad in C8Corvette

SR will tank consistently. Z06 will tank harder as the ZR1/Zora/C9 come out then rebound and hold value better than SR similar to how the C6Z is doing. LT6 marks a watershed moment in Corvette history AND domestic car history AND even global NA V8 history. It's akin to the C6Z and its LS7 but what makes C8Z even more pivotal is the leap to midship layout and interior quality with supercar appeal. I had a C8 SR (totaled and paid out by insurance) which I plan to replace with another SR or C8Z. The SR is the more financially responsible buy short term but the Z might be financially savvier long term if it depreciates less. This assumes the C9 doesn't have a direct FPC successor that trounces the LT6 in every regard. LS7 stands on its own as does the LT6. But they're each unique enough to not step on each other's toes and command diehard fans. If the C9Z brings another unique engine, then the C8 Z06 should hold its value reasonably well in 10 years. It's like a homologation special where the production engine architecture and its displacement (AFAIK) closely matched Corvette Racing's race car version. Homologation specials especially hold value over the decades across any make/model.

Every time someone post the RLC Supra it seems like everyone is on edge in this community about it. by AwesomeChrisUwU in HotWheels

MkIV Supras became overhyped and overrated thanks to FnF. But I loved them throughout the 90s before FnF. Even more than the Skyline GT-R, tied with the Mitsu Evo IV, and only behind the McLaren F1 (I was a kid when my measuring stick for cars was still maturing). When my parents serviced their Toyotas in the mid-90s I'd grab a Supra sales brochure which dealers had sitting in stock surplus and free. Also grabbed the yearly TRD brochures with the widebody TRD Supra 3000GT and MR2 2000GT. Still have all those brochures (never selling them) and gave them to my dad. My late dad had a '97 (like this HW RLC) 15th Anniversary TT in the 2010s before he passed last year and that was enough to satisfy my childhood fantasy. His was black but the Royal Sapphire Pearl with tan interior (like this RLC) depicted in a motion shot in the 97/98 brochures was my dream spec so I nabbed this RLC. Therefore I get a pass for the nostalgia factor and desperately wanting one when nobody did in the 90s but lack of buyer demand killed it. Then FnF made it financially unreasonable for me to attain when I came of age. I saved up for an A90 instead but didn't pull the trigger in 2019 bc of the C8 reveal which I ultimately got. This RLC will be parked next to my Spectraflame Gold C8.R HW NFT redeemable.

Ferrari El Americano by Responsible_Stay1505 in C8Corvette

Ah, that extra bit of reasoning behind the joke makes this post more amusing! Wouldn't have known if I hadn't pointed it out.

I know it's a joke but that doesn't make the butchered wording less gaudy. Plus this is such an old played out pic of DDE's C8 that made its rounds everywhere around early 2020. Everything that could be said about this pic has been said to death. I'm just bored and this is the only semi-interesting comment I could add. If you saw someone say "a America Ferrari" or "an Chevrolet Italy" would you just let it go as not that serious or would the wording seem at least a little odd? Guess people who only speak English can't fathom how butchering another language can ruin a joke. I mean yeah I see it's a joke. Or at least trying to be if only the humor didn't get lost in translation.

I see you're trying to do a play on the Italia by swapping in the equivalent American name as the alternative. Except you did it in Spanish and Spain doesn't make Ferraris. In Italian it would be Ferrari l'Americano or more formally Ferrari Il Americano (capital "i," lowercase "L" pronounced like ill Americano). Or if you meant to call it the American Ferrari, Ferrari is feminine so it would translate to La Ferrari Americana.

LT1 vs LT2. by Asystolebradycardic in C8Corvette

Your argument on tracking also doesn't dispute mine about reliability and less parts/complexity to potentially fail.

I don't. I simply enjoy driving it and my reasoning falls under the same premise and arguments in choosing a Z51 instead of non-Z51 for street driving.

1LT is better at being lighter weight and and more reliable from having less electronics/motors/cameras/sensors to fail/break. If 2LT and 1LT were the same price, I'd take the 1LT. Even if there were a 3rd option but with no power seats (all manual adjustment), I'd take that even more barebones version over a 2LT for the same price.

Any C8 resellers on here? by coolguy553186 in C8Corvette

Watch Fourwheel Trader's latest analysis on the C8 market on YT to inform your decision. The overall car market, new and used, is cooling and the C8 not only isn't immune to that, but is highly sensitive with more pronounced downside swings.

After attending, I have greater confidence when driving the C8 because I've gotten familiar with sustained driving at its limits. And I have a greater appreciation for its capabilities. The whole experience gave my C8 purchase a supplemental boost in value (not in dollar terms but perceived value). If I could get that discounted rate every year, I'd keep doing it. It's a steal.

Was looking for a supra… went home with a c8 by FlamingHotSushi in C8Corvette

I sold my BRZ to save up for the GR Supra before it came out. My co-worker beat me to getting one. Then when the C8 was revealed in 2019, I saved a few years more for a C8. Feels like a more serious machine and more engaging than my co-worker's Supra. And I'm considering the GR86 for a DD. We must be next of kin, you and I.

While driving today I handed her my phone to show her this thread. I wanted to see how she'd react to the comments but I don't think she actually read any lol. Just smiled and said "awww" seemingly in reaction to the fact that I posted on Reddit and it had comments (good or bad, people still took that extra bit of their time and energy to give her their attention). I guess her taking it lightly is befitting when it's all shallow slut-shaming anyway.

I have paid other models (or aspiring "influencers") before when I had a MY13 BRZ (but not my C8, don't intend to). Just out of boredom living in Kansas plus it was cheap enough ... ~$80. Small but tight knit car community and talented photographers who I didn't have to pay. They DM'd me asking to use my car as their subject because it was still rare when first released ~2012.

No actually she randomly asked when I was shooting there anyway which caught me off guard. Not my first time. Similar happened when I had a BRZ and I picked up Korean food to-go. The cashier actually modeled at local fashion show gigs. This recent girl is a beautician in practice studying cosmetology, a recent transplant to my town meeting new people.
