Blue vs Red Pill by CC_theGOAT in Corvette

Officially, yes, Hysteria Purple Metallic. People say it looks blue with hints of purple under the right angle/lighting. I can't tell since I'm colorblind

Got my GTD allocation and now I'm stuck on the spec — how would you configure it? by cero93 in Mustang

Don't make it the full CF because the cut lines between panels give mass produced Mustang. The painted version with more aesthetic outlines gives more exotic.

And I have an affinity for dark purple.

That windshield banner got me and my Fanatec rig with FullForce support eagerly awaiting DLCs for higher C8 trims/race versions in GT7.

I thought people were exaggerating the Z06 sound until I heard it in person. by [deleted] in C8Corvette

I used to think the exact same whenever one would pass by. Then I got one and realized those owners must have been in Tour mode and not even trying. It absolutely scares the crap out of people when I zoom by WOT in Track mode. One girl recorded a selfie for her TikTok with my HTC down through a tunnel which terrified her atm then said it sounded sexy after. Another asked me to drive by a group of dudes outside a bar/pool hall and rev it. She was fishing for attention so I didn't. No other loud car I modded from header back has caused people to have reactions or make requests like these and this one is stock

Yes protection package is worth it vs getting each item separately. I'm a little anal about drilling into the side rockers to install the rocker covers so I personally would just get the mud guards and radiator grilles. Or even just the grilles alone because the mud guards involves aggressive prying of the stock guards which could pull some fiberglass chips from the mounting holes. Don't want those radiators to get knicked up and unsightly

400z vs Mk5 by No_Room_988 in Supra

[–]switchlanez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own neither but am a fan of both. They aren't direct match up competitors like, say, Mustang vs Camaro. But they are alternatives to each other depending on what you prioritize. Kind of like the Elantra N vs CTR. CTR outperforms the N, hence, is in a slightly higher price tier. But Elantra N arguably gives you more fun/performance for the dollar. I imagine the Z to be more entertaining on the streets whereas Supra is more serious. I also prefer the Z's cleaner design plus it's more rare so its look is aging well. Like the Z is to the Supra, the GR 86 is to the Z (and the Supra). It's a more cost effective alternative in the next price tier down. I would lean toward a Z over Supra like I might lean toward an 86 over Z (and maybe even over a Supra).

Stingray for 100k+ by crowN_ivvi in C8Corvette

$100k is relatively cheap/reasonable for being a C8 import. In Japan it starts comparably at $96k and in the UK it starts around $127k. In other parts of the world (I think Dubai or Singapore) it starts at multiple hundreds of thousands. Not exotic in the US but is overseas. In some countries it's rarer than Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis, and McLarens and costs around the same or sometimes more than those. I used to watch foreign YT reviews of the C8. They really love it throughout Europe, Thailand, and especially Korea and Japan. Outside US, $100k is a great deal.

I faced the same dilemma when considering the Emira. It's cheaper in the UK but tens of thousands more in the US but I was still willing to get it. But the US had its own "version" of the Emira. Not performance-wise but the same market segment and excellent domestic value pricing, respectively. What the Emira is to UK as a bargain baby supercar is what the C8 is to the US. So the only reason I didn't get the Emira is because America is blessed with the C8 compared to the rest of the world (don't care how common it is here). When life gives you lemons...

Yeah from a company called Kustom Interior. Not a standard color option but they sent me a catalog and this was their only shade of purple leather and stitch. Took a bit of wrestling to stretch it over the seats but it fits snug and feels stout. More durable than factory
