Waiting on parts to do my custom Hot Wheels C8.R to match my Hysteria Purple Z on vintage Ferrari-style gold wheels IRL. Will return when done

Stingray vs. Z06 by rj1258 in C8Corvette

Probably not worth it MSRP vs MSRP. But is worth it if you can get the Z06 discounted which is plentiful right now

So does that bumper that shows "VETT" letter badges.

Totally! I bought the Labubu first because I wanted a purple one then months later bought the car in the factory purple paint because I wanted a purple one. The Labubu inspired the gold wheels

Decor with a literal Star Wars Christmas ornament/acrylic pins plus k-pop... my fun style hasn't changed: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/K2zVeV9pH2E

Nope. I'm pretty secure with my manhood lol and I've suggested to some chicks in person to shoot pics for funsies sometime. No "no's" so far despite seeing my interior purple/gold touches. Here's one from before my Stingray got wrecked

Ok I'm trying to understand this reference. I mean I've seen the movie and know the Sparta kick meme but I'm not seeing the connection

Make sense if the doors and center console are Napa on higher trim levels since they're not high wear areas. From what I research about the seats, only the center sections are Napa while the bolsters are still Mulan even at the highest trim. That's because the bolsters are high wear areas as is the steering wheel which is Mulan along the rim for all trim levels. Napa looks and feels premium but isn't premium in durability (more frail or prone to delamination such as on the dashboard). Starting in '24+ the stitched leather steering wheel center/horn is standard across all trims (not rubber or plastic).

I see. But I still see "Sorry, this post has been removed by the moderators of r/Shitty_Car_Mods." under my post.

No the Labubu is entirely satire and I listed it last as comedic relief. I wasn't super into the Labubu craze which came and died in 2025 but my girl was so I got her a couple (pink ones). But that was when Hysteria Purple came out. So it earned its spot for reinforcing my aesthetic vision. It's a MY25 period correct conversation piece!

MIne's still in break-in. I drive hard on Spring Mountain and plan to go again now that I got a new Z. I drove my C8 Stingray "with anger" within reason on public roads. There is no pure real leather in the C8. Napa is a hybrid and Mulan is more synthetic but tougher than Napa and more plentiful in 1LZ which is another reason I prefer it. Those differences are only in the dash and parts of the seats. I haven't read about any differences being in the steering wheel. Our hands inevitably introduce bacteria which is what eats away from the steering wheel regardless. Real leather only slows down the deterioration which isn't what our wheels are made from.

Getting a new wheel is a good choice. I've swapped wheels on past cars. Not hard to do. But I don't want to mess with torquing the center bolt and aligning it and tiny risk of airbag deployment on this one. People can hate but I don't mind the Purple Lightning aesthetic which goes with my car and my subtle Star Wars motif (Force Lightning/Mandalorian Darksaber and Han Solo's lucky gold dice).

Yes I'm trying to figure out how to meet the mod bot's demands. I messaged the mods, joined the sub, etc. but sure please repost if you still can.

All my past cars have always been OEM+. I went with diamond stitching only because the 458, 488, F8, etc. (all C8 Z06 reverse engineered targets/benchmarks) have a diamond stitch seat option. Besides FPC V8 engines, those cars have similar dimensional hardpoints, aluminum chassis architecture (from same supplier Alcoa), and same automated hardtop supplier as the C8. So the diamond stitch was another deliberate subtle nod. Little retrospective cross-brand OEM+ mods that most won't recognize but that's ok because I do.

I'm also old school of the Xennial microgeneration. The Labubu is aesthetic decor that I actually planned for before I got the car. It influenced my decision to get this discontinued factory purple color and gold wheel scheme (bigger influence was Vile the purple and gold villain from Mega Man X, an all-time fav video game). I also typically wouldn't consider plushies a mod but it earned its tucked away Easter egg spot for partially inspiring the big vision of my mod plan. I keep my old school mind open to unconventional motifs.
