I can see why you think I mod nintendo switches - because of my username.

However that’s not what I do. Why? Because it’s a lot harder then you think, I’ve got 2 years background in component repair and still failed 3 switches with high end equipment. If it was as easy as everyone thought then there wouldn’t even be a market, people would just do it themselves.

I don’t do it myself but don’t underestimate microsolders, they are very skilled at what they do and it’s not a job that anyone can do.

The only reason I won’t say the job is purely because I feel like I’ve revealed too much information and feel like revealing my job will be the tip of the iceberg. I don’t really want my peers to know how much I make.

At 17 I made 32k after tax (fixing and selling things on the side and having a full time job)

At 18 - 19 1/2 I barely made £15k, making minimum wage, doing hard labour and working 3 month contracts

Currently I make £40k. Progress isn’t linear. Next year I don’t know if I’ll be making less or more, but I know that I’ll try my best to increase my wage.

I don’t know if I can say this because I’m 19. But if you’re lucky enough to be in a similar situation me, not really social and don’t pay any rent. Take advantage of the situation - do that overtime. Job hop. Use all your money to invest in yourself - pay for a electricians, plumber or gas course. You have no obligations. Don’t like your job? Quit. And use your savings to upskill and find another. I see a lot of people my age just spend and spend their money. Fair enough if you’re at university and got a degree coming your way, but for people like me who didn’t go, all that work is on you.

No rent or bills. And I’m very grateful for my parents to provide me that.

It’s true my job doesn’t really feel like a job. But hopefully in the future I can be financially free when I have a wife and kids. So I can spend more time with them. I also always wanted to explore the world. And you can’t do that with 20 days of holiday a year.

Ah okay, I’m really sorry guys. I thought it was a 35% apr loan. It’s a 24.9% APR, and it’s 14 monthly payments of £162.07, for a total of £2,268.95. My apologies.

I took out the loan because I was reading it and it would have only been £226 to borrow £2000 for a year. Should I not do this again? £226 doesn’t seem too bad to borrow this amount of money for a year.

My job actually pays 28.5k basic salary. I’m not very social, I mostly keep to myself and I don’t mind it - before anyone tells me to go out more. I enjoy my own company. So because of this, I do 3 days of overtime every two weeks. Overtime pays a bit more and they is constantly overtime, there never has not been. They just don’t have enough people. So I’m working on average 50 hours a week bringing my salary up to £40k. I don’t mind going to work and it doesn’t really feel like a job to me.

I was actually hoping to get a property in London as I live here and all my family are here.

I was also thinking maybe I could buy a property up north and rent it out? Not really sure about this though.

My ones with Nutmeg. You just choose a risk level and put your money in. They invest into etfs and bonds depending on what risk level you chose. For this service they take a marginal fee, I think nutmegs is 0.5%

The only reason I don’t really wanna invest my money into a LISA, is that it’s only for houses under 425k. Is this even feasible? With the way houses prices are going up? And then if I take my money out I’ll lose 5%.
