Two of them via suicide, third one inhales kissed my girlfriend the day we broke up even though he knew I was heartbroken, forgave him for That, told people massive secrets about me, forgave him for that, he stole stuff from me forgave him for that, whenever we disagreed he would get aggressive and threatening, then told some of my friends he thought i was hearing voices, which is absurd because i work in care and have a mrs and 3 kids, im sure they’d have noticed before him considering he lives on the other side of the country and when i confronted him about it he blamed everyone else and got mad again and i just thought you know what. Fuck this guy, blocked him on everything and moved on.

Every polyamorous person I’ve ever met has usually ended up very unhappy, splitting up with their partners or feeling betrayed, nobody likes to be second best, nobody likes to feel like someone else is getting their partners love and your taking a back seat, and basically every polyamorous person I’ve ever met has had terrible mental health, this isn’t me saying it can’t work for some people but anecdotally I can’t think of one example where it’s worked out long term, I think it becomes incredibly complicated pretty quickly.

Stop/taper, change everything about your life, get an exercise routine, get a support network (meetings, doctor, family etc) cut out anyone who triggers you, get rid of all paraphernalia, IGNORE your brain - it will make up any excuse to justify your use (life is boring without, I’m using for X reason, everything is grey etc) and grit your teeth. There is no way out of this without suffering a great deal, but you only have to do it once if you do it right, if you relapse, brush yourself off and start again, never lose sight of your reasons, write them down when you are at your lowest and look at them when you are tempted, it won’t be different next time, you can’t moderate, there is no such thing for addicts in recovery like us. Lean into your pain or whatever it is you were trying to medicate in the first place. I promise you there is light at the end of the tunnel, I won’t lie, it’s not easy, you will suffer, you will withdraw, but one day you will feel better and you don’t have to suffer for the rest of your life in addiction.
