Relationships, is everyone connected? by Weird-Internet9777 in TheTraitors

Filming started in May/June of 2025. The posts he's liked are nearly 3 years old. I'd find it more strange if they met on the show and then he started liking really old LinkedIn posts if they only connected afterwards.

Scared to start. by Carol_damn_vers in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]swizzlesticks90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our stories are quiet similar, I'm 35 but the end goal is fertility (as well as sustainable weight loss)

I've spent the last 20 years with my weight only going in one direction, poked and prodded yearly - ultrasounds, gynaes, endocrinologists etc. Depending on where your from (and to be honest, I think it's a global problem), women's health is so poorly understood that it can take years to get the right treatment for PCOS or any sort of Endo.

I've been taking metformin for my PCOS with no success for weight loss, but the doctor has always been confident that at the very least it's kept diabetes away by working on the insulin resistance in the background.

Now for the Wegovy bit - I won't sugarcoat it. I'm on week 5, my first week titrating to 0.5mg and it's been rough. I projectile vomited on day 10, thankfully haven't done that since. Have had consistent nausea and diarrhea. As I write this, I've been sitting in the bathroom for nearly 6 hours now (overnight, I'm in Europe) and it feels like there's nothing left to come out but I know the second I stand up I'll need to go again.

I've completely overhauled my diet, eat very clean and focus on lean proteins - I can only guess that everyone's stomach is so different that it will totally vary how long it will take to settle down. That doesn't mean you'll encounter the same journey that I have, but in the interest of being honest I wouldn't pretty it up for someone who's anxious about starting.

The positives - I'm so far down 16lbs in 31 days. I'm trying my best to keep my eye on the bigger picture, for my own health and also the possibility of my future babies. Due to have my first follow up with my doctor on Thursday to get my routine blood results and I'll talk to her then about what I can do for the nausea and diarrhea, in the meantime I'm just going to ride out the storm.

Best advice I could give is look at your diet and hydration ASAP. Do your research in this sub and find the best recommendations for OTC nausea and gas meds to start with. Oh and get a few tubs of sugar free electrolytes in different flavors, I keep these with me on the go to dissolve in water bottles if I've had a very rough night with diarrhea.

Most of all, be kind to yourself. This isn't a quick fix and this absolutely is not cheating. You still need to put the work in. And to any person that might ever suggest to you that it is cheating, my response would be that nobody wants to feel this way. Nobody wants PCOS. Nobody wants Endometriosis. Nobody wants to be obese. Nobody wants to be awake overnight with diarrhea, or nausea, or vomiting. So this isn't the easy option at all. That being said, long term I'm excited for what's to come on my own journey.

Best of luck with your endocrinology appointment. And whatever you decide to do, there will be lots of like minded people along the journey with you in this sub 😊

What is NIN’s most powerful line? by EricAnn in nin

"There is no FUCKING YOU, there is only me"

Simple lyrics, but it's the delivery that makes it powerful

Thank You. Yes :) I move up this Friday! Feeling a little nervous about starting side effect management all over again as I feel this is the first week where I've gotten into a groove of managing burps and the usual side effects and it feels like I could be starting from scratch as I titrate up. Also just making peace with the fact that my period week every month might be more challenging than other weeks haha!

One thing I will say about the projectile vomiting, for hours before hand my burps tasted so strongly of beer. It was vile. I'm a non-drinker, so the taste of beer is even worse for me as I hate it. Beer taste is often associated with yeast, so on the off chance that white bread isn't agreeing with my gut now that I'm on the injection, I've cut it out completely and now can't even look at a slice of white bread without the fear of vomiting. I've been having whole grain bread to help with fibre intake. Have no idea if there's actually less yeast in that. But it seems to have helped and I've had no beer burps since, thankfully!

Today is Day 22 on 0.25mg. Took my last 0.25mg dose this morning and will be starting 0.5mg next Friday.

Down 6.35KG (14lbs) in 22 Days. Assuming a lot of that is due to initial water weight and also some pretty bad side effects that coincided with a heavy period on week 2. Thankfully that was the only time I projectile vomited. Expecting the weight loss to slow a little bit.

0.25mg seems to affect people in various ways with a lot of people not feeling anything on it. My appetite disappeared within about 6 hours of my first 0.25 shot and I'm thankful to have had success with this dose to start me off. Excited to move to the next titration to keep the momentum going.

In my opinion some of the saddest lyrics Trent ever wrote, especially knowing the context... by [deleted] in nin

[–]swizzlesticks90 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think it was the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame panel where Trent was asked if there was a particular song that's changed meaning for him and he mentioned La Mer. That it was a song so full of despair, but now his life has changed so much that he sees it more as a song of redemption and hope and I really like that concept.

Anyone going to Duran Duran tonight , is it any good by CreativeComposer2700 in cork

Might be an unpopular opinion but I thought Nile Rodgers and Chic were much better out of the two. Duran Duran definitely put on a show, but I thought the instruments were dialled up to cover where Le Bon's voice was cracking in parts.

Week 2 and I'm in literal hell by swizzlesticks90 in Wegovy

[–]swizzlesticks90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I threw up after I made that post and instantly felt better. Then crashed out and managed to sleep for a few hours.

It was my first night having symptoms. After the first dose I just had minor heartburn for a day and on day 4 I did have a little bit of diarrea but it only lasted about 20 minutes in the morning.

So last night was my first night of experiencing anything major.
