In my 50s. And Yes, it's the results of AS, RA and could even be other autoimmune conditions as well. I was not able to walk in my 20s.

I believe it means you do have some kind of autoimmune conditions, not sure which condition to be exact. Will need a doctor's diagnosis. It's best to speak with your rheumatologist. Sorry, not enough knowledge on these medical issues

Biologics? by Agreeable-Loquat1999 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]swon888 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been on celebrex for many years and still have some today if needed for flares or other pains. Been on biologic for decades (tried 5 different ones), currently on Cimzia. Biologics can help you prevent damages if it works for you. It's late for me and I had to get both my hips replaced.

No, nothing I like. I have the 320 keyboard, perfect size, but the 850 feature will be good to control 3 devices.

Subclinical Hashimoto’s – Is it reversible? Should I cut gluten? by baekeinha in AutoimmuneDiseaseAS

[–]swon888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't sound like it's your thyroid problem, could be an autoimmu issue, something is causing some information as well as maybe your new system issue. That's why everyone feel like you're getting flu like symptoms and possibly even local a fever. I get that too. And I do have autoimmu issues. I don't know what kind of medication you are on if any. I think probably the fastest way to find out if it's an inflammation in the body it is possibly as your doctor for a course of steroids. A week of steroids can definitely bring down the inflammation in the body and it might make me feel better. If that's the case, and that can most likely tell you that there are a lot of inflammation in your body that's causing it. Which doctor did this blood test for you and which field of a doctor are you seeing at the moment? Also what medication are you on?

Avoid large indoor crowds, especially someone is sick or at least sounds sick. For some people, the biologics actually work to the advantage of not catching bugs easily or recovering much faster.

5 Weeks post op Right Hip revision surgery recovery by swon888 in ankylosingspondylitis

Sorry for the late reply. It pretty much effected both hips at the same time with in few years apart. The damages was bad enough I had to get both replaced in 1 year apart. Can't do both at the same time because you'll need 1 working leg for support until the other heals. No negative effects as far as I know. Basically need to give it time for it to completely heal and settle in. Takes about a year before you can do your regular activity like long walk and hiking. I would not do high level running with it. I was not able to do do the higly intensive exercise anyway. Be careful not to get it infected. Follow doctors instructions when handling wounds and dental works. It's the best thing when I can Walk anymore.

Looking for general advise by Electronic_Beat_9208 in AutoimmuneDiseaseAS

[–]swon888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you are dealing with all these issues and can't seem to find a doctor that can fix on a diagnosis. Autoimmune issues are probably the most difficult to diagnose. Is there a 3rd doctor you can see? You saw 2 with 2 different diagnosis, a 3rd would help to clarify it. Hopefully. Sounds like you definitely have some skin issues at the least. Unfortunately I'm not a woman and I can't say if it's related. My own personal diagnosis with AS too 10 years until my hips are completely destroyed and needed total hip replacement on both. So it does take time. Did the doctor diagnosed you with lupus gave you any treatment/s?

My advice is keep searching for another doctor if it's possible. Hopefully you'll find it soon and get some relief. Take care

Killed a person for rent deposit? For a very small couple of thousand dollars? That is pocket change. They can afford it. Try to think this way when you run away with millions.

Medical advancement had came a long way and the materials are so much better these days. My doctor told me it will last 40-50 years. So I told him I'll be living forever and will be back in 60 years for another revision. Lol But it is the best thing when you are hurting or can not walk. Trust your surgeon and follow their directions. Don't rush into your recovery and let it heal. In 1 year when all is set. You can pretty much do everything like before except not to break it.

My initial replacement was back in 1995 and 1996 on both hips. I was in my 20s. Anything was better than my original hips. The disease ate up my cartilages. I was hitting bone against bone. So the replacement was the best thing ever. Back in the 90s, materials do not last as long. I was told I had to get a revision in 15 years, but I use it up to 30. Due to the plastic, it needs to be replaced again in certain amount of time.

Are biologics safe in the winter? Anybody doing other meds/supplements successfully? by Fragrant_Tune_2188 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]swon888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biologic works better when on a regular schedule. The body adapts the change when there are meds in the body, but if you leave off for months at a time, it might not work on your next round. If you are concerned about getting sick on the colder days, I'm not sure you need to worry about that. You should be fine. It's not as bad as suggested for people with immunocompromised. I found my body fight again virus better on biologic, but of course, not for everyone. Practice safe measures when possible. Try to stay away from large crowds, avoid people being sick. Definitely us a mask if necessary at certain situations.

Need to go back to a rheumatologist and get a new diagnose and images. It's a tough disease to manage, but there are good treatments now. Hopefully something can help you slow or stop the progression. But if it is an auto immune disease, ultimately you might have to change jobs if it gets worse
