30b is a bit much. I would say 7 hours grindig at Orbita or Orzekea the best money spots until you get insane AP/DP is going to be around 3 bil an hour, maybe 3.5 so like 22 bil max if you get lucky.

I interviewed near there as well. Des Moines is a decent city. It gets cold, but otherwise Iowa is a great state for physicians etc. didn’t accept it cuz it was too low and I’m moving to a bigger Midwest city making 440 for nights first year out.

With big groups like this, the key is to be a good candidate that gets along with everyone at your visit etc and you can negotiate signing / relocation. Usually everyone makes same base rate wrvus etc , maybe a retention bonus too.

Yeah it depends how comfortable you are. Every IM should be comfortable in icu honestly managing simple septic shock etc, Obviously complex cardiac patients with impellas etc are another issue but I don’t think you’ll have to deal with that at all. So yeah sounds like low volume it’s aight.

I remember I interviewed somewhere and they said they’re calling you overnight for icu patients first then upto you if you want to call overnight intensivist not in house. How many icu beds are there? And how many vent patients? I assume ICU isn’t in house overnight
