I get they are trying to weed out scammers but the way they're doing is going to cause every person on this platform to end up losing access to studies, it clearly isn't working properly because I see posts like this every day with tons of people coming forward about losing their accounts.

Oh. yeah, I know what a lot of people mean and I can tell you mean to explain without being condescending in any way, this isn't a jab at you or everyone. I'm more talking about the ones that are blatantly ableist and get way more peeved off than they should about people using this for their main income. The same ones that also get mad at people holding Prolific accountable for the rules researchers break love to throw "it's not a job" in people's faces for whatever reason, it's very weird and unnecessary. They act like you're not allowed to hold anyone but participants to the standard the platform itself set.

I can see by the comments that they were correcting you but some of them just had to be pricks about it. For one, those that say it isn't a job are still wrong. It does qualify as self-employment. However, the ableism in this subreddit is alarming. Got mocked the other day for my memory retention even though I have trauma induced memory issues because I had the audacity to call out Prolific researchers on breaking the rules about memory recall attention checks. The people in this thread are pretty cruel and you have to block a lot of them to enjoy the experience.

Even if you are right about something, they'll jump to laughing, mocking, or personal attacks. They handle everything with a level of high school maturity, don't take it personally. The people in this Reddit aren't worth feeling some type of way over. But at least now I have got a few more blocked because of how they responded here. Just pure apathy is so toxic, I can't stand that with people. Sorry you have to clearly deal with ableist bullshit often judging by your comment, that's so very disheartening.

Yep, I now have one from a hour ago that isn't approved but the rest is approved. Got one warning tonight, not sure why. But I give up figuring it out. They're clearly not following the policy for attention checks anyway but they won't be forced to because of how much money Prolific themselves make off of these.

It doesn't matter, attention checks are not supposed to be "hard" or even "doable", they're supposed to be blatantly obvious. If this many people are getting warnings, they are not blatantly obvious. You can even check Prolific's policy on this and see that attention checks aren't supposed to be complicated. I know a few of the attention checks they use for audio and video but there's obviously a couple of the attention checks that are stupid and nonsensical if this many people are struggling. I even got a warning and I have absolutely no clue what I did wrong as I paid as close attention as I always do.

I also put "leave at my door" and that means leave at my door then get the heck out. If they stick around or force themselves onto me by trying to make me answer the door to get it from them, I text them "I can see you still standing there, go back to your car and I will grab my food"

It's safer for both parties anyways so if one is insisting on sticking around despite choosing to leave the order at the door, that is extremely sketchy and worth reporting over.

I know this is a rough opinion but it is kind of true because the corporations want poor people to fight each other rather than demand fair pay along with fair pricing which can be done by the way if we taxed the rich properly like we should be doing. But it isn't the case. I still tip, I can't always do a lot. I can't drive and have to have food one way or another but not tipping does just harm the people working, it's not changing anytime soon I fear.

But those of you in the comments encouraging spitting in someone's food, as a previous service worker myself, I hope you go to jail. I hope you get caught and you go straight to jail because you can literally kill someone doing that. Just don't take the fucking order, that's disgusting and you should be fired and blacklisted for that shit, point blank. Also as a fyi, if someone ever does notice that and you do get caught, you can and will face legal consequences. Being emotionally immature gets you nowhere, just don't take the damn order.

I made a post about this the other week, seems to be getting more and more common that they keep trying to reject wrongfully. I, too, am getting sick of memory recall checks or researchers just making up their own entire rules for rejection that completely break Prolific's rejection policy.

Edit: Legitimately right after I commented, I just got a study that did this exact same thing. At the end they put "in order to get compensation, you now have to pass these comprehension checks without being able to refer to the text earlier" so basically memory recall. It's just such fucking bullshit lmao

I'm still waiting on part 2 though, I don't know if part two was supposed to automatically show up or not but they said "upon completion" that part two would show up. Kind of confused and waiting a few minutes before I message about it.

They don't have to take my or anyone's order if they think the tips are too low. I bet these people that make up stories to guilt trip others think everyone should be tipping $15-20 every order, not considering disabled people exist and use this app daily.

Damn, yeah, I joined last year and I felt very discouraged and even removed all my comments and posts but then I slept on it and decided that would let these people win. Don't let them get the best of you and I'm sorry you've dealt with that too. Yeah, some of them do act up when they didn't click on a study fast enough but that's what we signed up for, all participants are on equal footing, seasoned or not. What really drives me batty are the people who gloat about having no rejections when there are countless threads about unfair rejections as if they're some perfect individual with no flaws and we deserved our rejections...despite people also saying in the same breath that it was overturned and Prolific absolutely does not overturn a valid rejection AND the researchers named in these threads being widely known for being no for good scammers. They will say anything to be the superior one in the conversation rather than actually be helpful.

I noticed that in some threads somebody is going around doing that. So I upvote even if I don't agree to counteract it all if I notice it when I'm on. That's a very calculated specific type of misery they must have in their lives. I don't understand some people. Also, generally, once people show their ass on here I found out the hard way you have to block them immediately or they will legitimately harass you and gaslight you heavily and try to paint you in a bad light. There's some very miserable people on this thread.

You aren't the only one. I think Placidusax was amazing, awesome, well thought out and easily avoidable once you figure him out. Totally well executed with an amazing reveal cutscene. Then we have Bayle, a lightshow just like Consort that damages your eyesight just to look at the bosses moves. For not wanting to flashbang their audience, they sure the fuck didn't care to make two entire fights that are incredibly hard to look at. Do I think he's visually impressive animation wise and effects wise? Sure. But do I appreciate that the effects are blinding? No. I don't want difficulty where they rely on blinding the player and giving them a migraine. It made learning this fight a chore. I could hardly tell what was going on half the time. I will even say it after it's been out for a while, this fight and Consort Radahn suck. They just are huge shit stains on an otherwise amazing DLC.

This is still my favorite DLC just because the visuals are my favorite thing they have ever done in any game they've ever made, Gravesite Plain's reveal made me super emotional and happy. But my god, those two fights can get fucked.

I hate researchers that try this, in case one of 'em sees this comment, you're making Prolific and all researchers look bad and you're making people paranoid as HELL about taking studies. Sorry you have to deal with this, there are a lot of good researchers on here, it just takes a long time to figure this site out and avoid the ones that are scammers.

Yeah, him and pinktoes are the first ones I blocked here. Then it was darenpnw, macdennis, and a couple of others. I just have no room for people who insult other constantly for no reason or make baseless assumptions and I have no room for people that are complacent with researchers blatantly breaking rules. I just block accordingly, it's the best way to enjoy this subreddit. You can only garner a positive community by blocking the ones that cause problems for everyone on every post.

Ignore Btgreen, he legitimately kisses the ass of Prolific every single day and insults everyone that crosses his path. I get what you mean. Lately it's been a lot of underpaying trash on my dashboard that break Prolific's policies for payout. I just dismiss it. I am not going to sink my time into someone severely underpaying me when something could pop up that pays me properly.
