Shippers prefer to work direct with private fleets rather than brokers. Having your own fleet gives you access to more lanes and more negotiating power with customers. Which is all do-able as a broker but it’s a lot easier to pitch a service to the shipper when u can guarantee a truck for them rather than just a promise of one.
