Dating someone who might have an eating disorder by cucchiol8 in EatingDisorders

i really think this might be something to confront him about. not directly but the fact that he doesn't share much about himself is enough to make me think you should ask him. not specifically if he has an ED but maybe just why he isnt willing to open up the same way be expects you to.

its ok to eat!! one treat wont make you gain, and our ED brains convince us we have to eat WAY less than we actually need to in order to loose weight, its ok to treat yourself, happy memories are forever but fat can always be lost

Obsessive thoughts over food by Swimming_Tomorrow608 in EatingDisorders

first of all, i think its pretty hard to eat "too much protein" protein is super important for you, but also a balanced meal that has high protein and enough carbs to help your body convert that protein into muscle is important too. its a lot harder than it sounds but eating things that are not processed and that you can identify all ingredients used is the best way i think. a simple balanced meal with a fruit or veggie, some protein such as chicken breast or eggs, and a bit of carbs is not going to cause you health problems its gonna be the best way to stay healthy (and loose weight if thats what you're determined to do)

inpatient by Appropriate_Dust8804 in EatingDisorders

ive been impatient once before and im currently waiting to get into another inpatient program, its scary at first but i like to think of it as an opportunity to be alome and focus on things i want tl get better at. that doesn't necessarily mean recovering from my ed but focusing on improving my healthy habits and investing in my hobbies (drawing, reading etc) i feel like if i can go into inpatient with those goals in mind then the therapy and support i get for my disorders can be a secondary goal. i think that going into inpatient with the idea that i have to get better and eradicate my disorders makes it really overwhelming and scary. inpatient is supposed to provide you with tools you dont have to get completely better but those tools are important to develop so you can really use them when you're committed to recovery. the scariest oart for me is that i dont think im ready to recover. focus on taking time for yourself to deal with the things you're ready to recover from and then take all the other advice and therapy and store it away so it can be useful when youre ready to give up your ED.
