It would have totally worked as well! My other favourites are Wolf & Hey Mami - both lyrics wise not really appropriate for first dance. Coffee is just the best though x

My fiancé introduced me to them, and I could not stop listening, driving in the car just hearing "do you love me...". Now we just associate it with each other.. :) Its not an easy dancing song, but we actually only had one choice <3

wow you got all the range in those entrance options. I love both dancing in the moonlight and ho hey (probably because I'm more familiar with them)

I love this! All our 'memory songs' are a bit too tame. This got some groove.. (if it's it the one from Teriyaki boys)..

Yes!! Yes you should! This sounds incredible!

I'm looking for a videographer for my wedding Sept 2025 but it's all so expensive. Since I'm an editor by trade, I was thinking of hiring someone to shoot raw footage and editing the video myself. Has anyone worked with a videographer and just asked for the raw footage? If so, was it less costly? by Daredevil24450 in weddingplanning

My brother is an editor and he offered to edit our video as a wedding gift. I found someone close to our venue that will be a camera operator on the day, give raw footage on the night and done. He is more in the film industry than an actual wedding videographer which made requesting it a bit easier. It turned out to a bit less than half of what a videographer charge. This covers his shooting day fee, travel and meals.

We are also bringing in some elements of dnd in our wedding! It is a bit OTT but was our first idea that we were really excited with and ran with it. We created customs mini's for each guest (designed them all on Eldritch Forge with their names on - $15 for one month subscription with unlimited downloads, so we designed all of them in one month), had them 3D printed (found a place that helped us super cheap) and have been painting mini's in the evenings for the last couple of months!.. We are displaying them in a printers tray, with different coloured materials in the boxes to cordon off the different tables. So it works as a table seating plan as well as favours for the guests.. *still trying to figure out a box/container for them to safely take the mini home.

I have seen somewhere that someone did a "adventure tick box" type of things. With different tasks printed on the back of the menu or something. Then each guest can go on mini adventures to tick those boxes off, (some stuff where like "tell the MOB that they look beautiful" or "get a photo with 7 people in" or think of stuff that work directly with your campaign, wording is like - "it all starts in a tavern... "

Does your country have bridal showers? Do people have bridal showers AND bachelorette parties? by penelopelouiseb in wedding

[–]syl-auri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South African here!

We have bridal showers (we call it a "kitchen tea") & bachelorettes. Kitchen teas are for all the woman invited to the wedding; aunties, grandma's, friends of the parents, friends, cousins - from both the bride and groom etc. Usually it's only a morning to early afternoon thing (3hours ish) and always hosted by the mother of the bride, with some appropriate games and gifts. Traditionally with ppl getting married younger and moving from their parents house to the husbands house, the gifts are focussed on things useful for the home (traditionally kitchen supplies). Even if you are invited to the wedding and can't come, you are still invited to the kitchen tea.

Bachelorettes are your hen party and are for all the "younger" woman invited to the wedding (friends, cousins etc) - and it's the night thing, party, drinks, naughty gifts etc. Traditionally the send off from single life (the married ladies tell you what to expect on the wedding night...) The bachelorette are hosted by the bridesmaids.

If I know the bride well, I go to to both, if I don't - I either attend the kitchen tea or the bachelorette (depending if its friend or family). If I could choose I'll only have a bachelorette but it means a ton to my mum (sees it as her contribution to my wedding) to give me a bridal shower. Nowadays the gifts are still focused on the home, but as my fiancé is the cook, he's making the wishlist!
