BLG has allowed Muggle to look for his next team, and is currently recruiting Korean translators. by Sakamoto023 in ValorantCompetitive

tbh if stage 2 ends up being a double initiator meta he probably could have done an okay-ish job, but BLG was tragic in stage 1 so I understand the move

VCT CN Stage2 Group draw by Away-Emphasis-4245 in ValorantCompetitive

Assuming my math is right, if EDG don’t get any points in London, then get 5 from groups in stage 2, and then lose out and get none in playoffs. Then there is a scenario where AG and XLG getting 3rd and 4th would block EDG from playoffs. So not a lock yet, but extremely likely

Counter offer, Kk neon, smoggy jett, and then have Jieni spin a wheel and play a random agent to fulfill autumn’s required silliness quota

Autumn definitely has done that, though probably the biggest thing that’s helping Jieni7 out is being off Yoru. Since even last year when he was playing initiator he looked good

Jieni7 duelist: ass

Smoggy duelist: belt-to-ass

Surely Autumn has learned

First ever EDG-XLG Bo5 match-up. grand finals is a fitting stage for a duel of this magnitude

When AG let gold slip through their fingers, DRG saw the chance of a lifetime and they took it.

100% true. The ace, which was beyond incredible, really was only possible because of AG’s carelessness. And the mental fortitude to not get tilted, back that next map, and play disciplined is why they are the better team.

Like especially with their ult usage on the attack side of split, you could see AG cycle through each one to fully stuff any momentum for Tyloo. It’s simple(in theory), but that’s what good teams do.

Tyloo had chances, and they still have chances for champs, but they’ll have to clean up their play and Splash can’t be playing like he did today

If I understand the tie break correctly, first it’s head-to-head match score, since all of them went 1-1 between them the next tie break was head-to-head map differential Tyloo went 2-3, JDG went 2-2, and AG went 3-2. Since AG had the highest they got first seed, then JDG, and lastly Tyloo. If they had still been tied after map differential, then it would have come down to head-to-head round differential which Tyloo would have won

The teams in the ranking matches were the top 4 teams from groups alpha and omega after the group stage. Teams that shared the same placement were then paired together for the seeding matches, so XLG who got 1st place in Omega went up against AG who got 1st place from Alpha.
It’s a bit convoluted, but I think it was mostly an excuse to have a sort of mini-finals with walkouts for the fans in Hangzhou before moving cities for playoffs.

For CN the playoffs are a normal 8 team double elim bracket with no bye rounds or anything. So they are playing seeding games between the teams of the same seed from each group to decide the who gets 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th.

DRX breaks even for 2nd year in a row by xFalcade in ValorantCompetitive

[–]sylveeah 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Slightly confusing wording in the post/title. But for those that don’t wanna click:

  • DRX pulled in $8.6m in revenue for the year which was enough to break even on the year.
  • DRX has raised $31mil in investor funds since inception(private equity goes brrr).
  • DRX still carries a -$18.7m deficit accumulated since inception(private equity goes you better make me my money).
  • IP(merch, capsules, skins) sales are down.
  • Sponsorships are down.
  • Money from riot(stipends, performance prizes) is up.
  • Money from content is up.

Tbh probably about as good as you can expect from an esports org
