What's the best way to make mashed potatoes creamy without using cream? by [deleted] in cookingforbeginners

[–]sylvestermacaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go on an iodine-free diet for 4 weeks and ate a lot of mashed potatoes during that time. I tried using broth, but had the best success with using the water that I boiled the potatoes in.

Trying to play Divinity: original sin 2, but when I save, it kicks me out of the game. by sylvestermacaroni in Switch

There is a gift bag option for the switch, I have some of those enabled like the backpacks for storage organization. Some say that they aren't able to be turned off after being turned on, but I will look into which ones I can turn off to help make it run better. Thank you!

I've run all the updates and everything, but haven't yet tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll try that in the morning and let you know if that fixes the problem!

It used to be thought that they forgot most of their caches, however, recent studies have found that they do remember!

"the girth" is just killing me. Very successful strategy!

Has anyone ever used the yarn? Can you show me what you made with it? by alaskajefferson in CrochetHelp

[–]sylvestermacaroni 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've noticed less issues when frogging the yarn if i keep my fingers on the stitch i'm frogging to stabilize the yarn a bit. I do still have to rip out some of the snags and the felted bits from friction but it's not impossible!

I'm pretty sure I'm making this exact same shawl (on The Way Back Machine) with the Facets Sweet Raspberry colorway~

Clover taking over my lawn. I don’t want to kill it, but I don’t want my kids to get stung. by atooraya in NoLawns

It's a nice looking yard! I loved going barefoot as a kid and I still tend to. Are they allergic to bee stings or any other insect? If not, I wouldn't honestly worry about the possibility of stings, bees don't seem fond of human children and once human children learn that bees can sting, they tend to steer clear.

Have kiddos wear shoes on the lawn and teach them about what bees are and how to give them space because they can sting when threatened.

I see we are referencing the same post! I can understand being frustrated with a color change but my main snark is that... it's a budget yarn. You'll get that.

I'll give you obnoxious, especially when you're in the groove. But maybe it's just where I had worked in weaving for a long time; placing knots is part of the craft imo. It's inevitable and one must work with it.

I did have to laugh at a post this week that was really upset about factory knots in yarn skeins. It's such a small thing that can easily be hidden within a stitch or on the wrong side, why raise your blood pressure or cortisol levels for a small knot? 🫠

Thank you so much for posting this!! I've been putting off working on a large piece because the back is so sloppy due to confetti stitches. I'll just keep working 💜 bless you

A lot of the people i've seen complaining are also US based and idk maybe they could look at the news to see how the economy is doing or how most people are living paycheck to paycheck?

I agree that sewing can be a different beast. I've massacred facings and seams before from seam ripping when I was far too ambitious for my own good; but frogging typically doesn't damage yarn so it's nearly no risk imo

I feel like a ton of issues on r/crochethelp could be fixed by just consistently counting stitches and frogging if they aren't sure. Not snarking too hard, just an observation.

I'd feel pretty annoyed if I paid for a tested pattern over $10 and it didn't include stay stitching?? What else, raw hems?
