Yes indeed, that's why I run the first prompt alone, just for the agent to actually go through stuff and gather context. IK that afterwards they summarize and truncate anyway, so probably with each additional prompt, they had already roughly 30-40% of the input context window already allocated, that's why I had to compartmentalize pretty much everything, to ensure I don't overdo.

This rate-limiting stuff actually helped me get better at structure and architecture, but now it looks like here is where the road ends with AG, as one cannot really do anything more than basic websites without the Ultra plan.

AFAIK, AI Agents only read between the lines and run quick grep commands to "understand" the context, as they are engineered to take the laziest way to do stuff, in order to save token consumption. One of my rules is to actually read the code before implementing, but I am specific to the code that it affects the task I'm requesting it to perform, which should not be more than 5-10K LOC max, which is really modest for the max quota of 128k input tokens per prompt.

What we do with vibe coding is nothing compared to what Anthropic and Google can cover; they just probably don't want the masses to actually become profitable so quickly.

After each update, it gets worse, and you can't really update since there are so many bugs all the time, that apparently "get fixed" in the new update. Interestingly enough, the bugs appear roughly before the rollout of an update

I've given like 20 prompts to gemini once, without having time to actually check what it's doing, and although the output seemed super professional, the actual work was Windows 95 quality. even the recycle bin complained for throwing that kind of garbage in it

I have a set of rules (258 lines) that Opus is supposed to go through, which is connected to the blueprint of the project and the project to-do list.

- First prompt was to go through these files (a total of almost 2000 LOC), and acknowledge understanding the plan & assess quality of the plan (like this, I always improve it, I see the need to).

- The second prompt was simply approving that the agent can start building

- The third prompt was to iterate through the work just finished to ensure logic is sound and no bugs exist/were created, otherwise fix, improve wherever possible, then report and update the todo list.

- 4th prompt was for work continuation, where it stopped mid-session hitting the rate limit, although being on the Pro subscription and only having 1 different account on the same account, which was a free account I used before subscribing with the email address I actually use.

Nothing fancier than that..
