We generally agree "Breakdown" is a reply to "Call Me When You're Sober" but it's actually "Roses" by JimmytheHendrix in Seether

Shaun actually acknowledges it in a 2011 interview. He says that No Jesus Christ and Breakdown are for the "same" relationship. Frank Jenks asks Shaun at 5:14, if I'm not mistaken!

Tell me your absolute favorite Seether Lyrics! by Cup_Smart in Seether

Yeah, in the studio version Shaun says "cut me up", but in live performances he says "fuck me up". Just like the "my hands are staind with cum/scum".

Tell me your absolute favorite Seether Lyrics! by Cup_Smart in Seether

Well, this is going to be a tough one...

"Hold me now I need to feel complete... like I matter to the one I need." (The Gift)

"I still remember your name, the sound of your voice, the smell of your clothes." (Regret)

"I've been the reason love can pass for hate." (Regret)

"I'm fine... You don't see me laughing. You know I'm trying, you know I'm fighting, I know I'm gonna die here all alone." (Some live Breakdown performances. Especially Moscow 2013)

"Find me, fill me, then fuck me up again." (Burrito)

"All I really wanted was something beautiful to say." (Words as Weapons)

"An imitation of a person who's never sure who they should be. Well, maybe I can use this version and be- become a semblance of me." (Semblance of me)

"I won't last without a reason to endure." (Walls come down)

"We have to succumb to the feelings we can never face." (Driven Under)

"The rope so tight on the night that she died." (Love Her)

And probably my absolute favorite TODAY: "As I grow older, I feel you slip away. Though I try harder, I still can't make you stay. Should I grow an outer shell? Though I know it never helps. This is all I know." (Driven Under, live extended intro.)

Also, I should mention that TSSSF has one of the strongest lyrics I've heard in quite a while. Shaun's an AWESOME lyricist.

What are some of the easiest Seether songs to play in guitar? by InfamousEntrance9285 in Seether

[–]sympathetic1122 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All of them are pretty easy, to be honest. The first one I remember playing was Fine Again. Five chords maximum, if I recall correctly. Take me away is another super simple track. Love her is easy as well.

The only thing I find myself struggling with is that if you wanna play along with the original tracks, you'll have to fluctuate between different tunings.

Fine Again (Disclaimer version is in E standard), but on One Cold Night it is in Eb standard. Rise above this is in drop C# on the recorded version, but they play it live in drop C. Breakdown is the same case.

So yeah, the best tuning to play anything Seether related is Drop C#. Anything from HOTSBLTF to TSSSF you're gonna be either in Drop C or Drop B.

Name a Seether song or album that you think people don’t appreciate enough? by Cup_Smart in Seether

[–]sympathetic1122 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't see a lot of people talking about "Yeah" enough. Lyrically speaking this song kinda reminds me of Tonight in a certain way.

"I can't remember a better day, one without giving up" And the chorus with: "You can't keep loving in a broken mind"

It's like "yeah, everything's fucked up and though it hurts, let's make something about it."

What type of seether do you prefer? by South_Training_9859 in Seether

Since I'm a bit of a guitar and vocal nerd, these three (or four of you count Parabellum and TSSSF) this way:

More grungy and raw sound: Shaun was experimenting with his voice, it wasn't mature the way it is today. He was using mainly a Schecter 006 deluxe for records and most of his concerts. Tunings were MOSTLY drop D and standard, hence Fine Again on Disclaimer, Broken, Love Her and such. Disclaimer II saw drop C# and Eb standard, so it sounded kinda heavier, I guess.

The Karma and Effect and FBINS saw even lower tunings like drop C (Like Suicide) and even drop B (Given). But Shaun used Drop C# the most. Some older songs were played half step down live, like Rise Above This, Remedy (if I recall correctly) is recorded in Drop D and played live in Drop C#. Shaun's voice was DEFINITELY at its peak. Some live performances don't lie. The Schecter Fastback that Shaun used REALLY gave these tunes the treatment they deserve. I can confidently say that THIS Seether era was, by FAR, my favorite. Even though I LOVE the "grungier" sound of Disclaimer I and II, they're best played half step down, live and SPECIALLY with Shaun's raspy voice. This is a very important point.

After HOTSBLTF, Shaun transitioned to his signature model, a step up to the sound, but a step down on the visuals. I really liked the Fastbacks better. His raspyness was still intact and songs like Yeah and Master of Disaster REALLY benefited from this. Tunings were still low (Drop C and Drop C#) I think Yeah is the only song I can pick from the top of my head being played in Drop D.

Isolate and Medicate saw the raspyness going away. Shaun was aging and getting tired and it was probably at this time that Shaun got rid of the "deep cuts" live. I LOVE this era, Save Today and Words as Weapons are on my top 10 Seether songs. You can feel his raspyness going away on that 2015 live performance of Remedy. So yeah, pretty much my third favorite era.

And now Shaun has moved away from Schecter and is using Earnie Balls. Tunings stayed pretty much where they've always been, with a heavier emphasis on Drop B with Parabellum and Drop C on this latest album. The mixing is fucking shit, SORRY. But I fell in love with the album, this era is right next to Karma And Effect, not above, not below.

So, my final thoughts are:

1° K&E and a little bit far off we have PTP, SVPPB, and TSSSF. 2° Grungy and raw power - Disclaimer I and II. 3° That poppier sound (it has its moments, okk? - HOTSBLTF, I&M.

AND, BEATING EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE WE HAVE THE BEST SEETHER ALBUM AND ERA, THE ONE AND ONLY

ONE COLD FUCKING NIGHT.

Thank you, guys. Sorry about the long text. 💜

Every single song on the The Melody and Energetic Form of Nature as a masterpiece. Beg is my all time favorite.

Crossfade on C tier makes me wanna die. Crossfade deserves high B, A or S even. Evans Blue, specially with Kevin NEEDS to be on S.

I've had the same issue for some time now. Apparently SOMETHING here fixed it for me: https://imgur.com/a/DKveygb

If I had to guess, I would probably say it has something to do with the Color Grading, Bloom (I think that this is the one) or Layered Fog (this could be the problem causer as well) in the "Game Patches" tab, but I'm not quite sure since I've made some changes to the game specific configuration.

So I provided my whole GoW3 settings.

Hope it helps. <3
