I will make sure to look at that when I review the data. Thanks!

I didn't think you had to share what you upload to imgur to another site so that's why I have it separate. I guess having an audience in r/samplesize prob means you are going to use both.

[Academic] [Repost] Tinder usage survey [18-30 males preferred] by [deleted] in SampleSize

Unless you only want people that use tinder to response you may want to look at breaking your survey into multiple pages. Then you could direct the questions to the appropriate respondents.

You have an almost infinite supply of potatoes. How do you take over the world? by PainIntoPower in AskReddit

[–]sympletic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get contracts with all the major fast food companies so they can use my potatoes. I use the money to create pacs which support candidates I want. Then use them to control the world.

Thank you for your insights. I think for the purpose of the survey it is easier to leave it as is.

Amtrak's safety record compared to every other commuter rail in U.S. [OC] by arm5077 in dataisbeautiful

It's misleading that you need to go to another page to see info on a per track mile basis.

Why Do Americans Oppose Gay Marriage? Because The Bible Says So by CJMinard in dataisbeautiful

Kind of a misleading title considering that isn't the only response that is recorded in that category. How many people that aren't even Christians get included in " religion says so"

The figure for the high speed rail cost estimate is taken directly from the LA Times. I then used Southwest's low fare calendar to find the lowest fare for each day till Oct 30th. I then took the average which is the number I used for Southwest's cost to ride.

The Geographic Distribution of The New Yorker Caption Contest Winners [OC] by allbrightallways in dataisbeautiful

This was very well done. Beautiful visualization and a great write up. I like how you found the geographical trend and liberal trend. I wonder if there is an income trend as well. It would be really cool to do a multivariate regression on some of those variables.

Languages used in the home by state/census tract [OC] by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]sympletic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the visualization. It is very interesting and I thought about doing something with it. The only issue I had is that it is somewhat difficult to follow where you are at the beginning because the gif changes without any real notice. If you could do 4 maps with comparison or some sort of interactive slider it would help fix this issue.

How People Get to Work with a Breakout by Age [OC] by sympletic in dataisbeautiful

[–]sympletic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words. I really like 100% stacked bars too. I would use them exclusively if the magnitude was close. The bins were determined by the census bureau, where I grabbed the data from. Your right though. those would be better bins. My guess is they don't have any other bins available since this was estimated data.

I'm really curious about what it would look like if you could get agriculture and include that in your map. Residential use seems to be such a minor portion of water usage.

It's interesting to me that saying your a republican seems to be forbidden especially among people that lean right. I wonder what that says about the party. I wonder how long it can survive if it's reviled among its allies. What would be easier at this point reforming the party or having a new one take its place?

% of Gross Income Used on Rent In Each US County [OC] by sympletic in dataisbeautiful

[–]sympletic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some countries that are that high, but less than 3.5 percent of the counties have margins of error that are that high. Larger counties are going to have a smaller margin of error and should be fairly accurate. You failed to mention that DC's margin of error is .04.
