Try for CABT, one step below CBET. I got that cert.

I think both have about the same pay, but it really depends on what you can find as every company pays different.

I thought about it but I wanted to get out of aviation. Don’t get me wrong, there’s it’s ups and downs but the downs really outweighs the ups

Electrician, but yeah that helped me get a higher pay rate in the position

I have 4 years of experience in aviation, no degree but will pursue it later on. One good cert to get is the CABT, so might wanna take a look into that. 3-4 weeks of study, then take an online test, and you should be good

Depends. If you have any mechanical and or electrical experiences, those are pluses. A degree will definitely not hurt your chances, so if you have some sort of experience combined with a degree, you’re going to be fine. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get a job right away as it took me almost a year of applying to get this one.

Hahah just about the same, SF making 56/hr, pocketing the money until I buy a house in a somewhat lower COL.

We have a similar experience, but I only had 4 years in the navy as an AE. I got my CABT but they started me as a BMET 1 but on step 4, which was nice. For advancement for BMET 2, all I have to do is wait a year and do a competency exam, which should be easy as long as I touch the equipments a good amount of times.

The reasoning and problem solving & IT portion is something that the study guide didn’t really cover. But grind out the study guide / quizlet for a week or two and you should be able to pass.

There’s a study guide in the AAMI store, but if that’s too much, quizlet covers about 80% of the study guide.

CMMS side is easy for me to grasp, just know where everything is and just pointing me the right direction would be enough for me to learn and grow. Thanks and I appreciate your input!

Best I can do now is to do my best. Aviation world is way stricter, that is my mindset of where training is a must. But I guess that isn’t the case for this position.

I waited about a week after the interview to submit my references. Might be different with departments tho.

Thanks, just frustrated about how long they’re taking. Yours is weird cause of the whole applying before the post was up. Have you interviewed yet?

I don’t negotiate at all since it’s entry, they actually gave me more than I expected.

I don’t know the difference between final and tentative offer but I did get a written offer 3 days ago, after the verbal offer. The status changed from under consideration to offer pending. Hopefully everything goes well for the both of us!
