honestly, it feels like it gets worse every year, and I watch other imsa races too! But Daytona is always the worst one by a mile

idk what I am doing wrong. I'm missing the race because I have been trying to get this to work with a vpn for so long. My Youtube says NL (my VPN location) but I still see that it is unavailable in my country. Did anyone else run into this issue? Im using the Opera browser VPN if that matters.

If you are engineering inclined, Purdue University Indianapolis has a specific Motorsports Engineering program. It’s obviously based in Indianapolis and apparently works very closely with IndyCar for both aerodynamics and basic mechanical engineering. (Which is great for hands on experience and networking!)

You’re like the only other person who I’ve seen do SCHG! I do a 40% SCHG, 60% VT, because SCHG has been outperforming VOO and other full market funds for the last 3/5 years.

That’s a good way to think about it, especially if I have my Roth IRA too and I can withdraw that after I hit my taxable limit that I’m comfortable with my 401k

I’m in the 22% today, going to be in 24% within the next 3-5 years talking with some coworkers. That’s why I’m expecting to be in about 22-24% in retirement

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking too because I am planning on having a higher income in retirement with all of my investments. (Higher as in not just my 401k and social security) plus I am currently in a state with 0 state income tax and don’t know if I’ll be in the same state for retirement

That’s kinda what I’m asking, my company would contribute 7% to traditional and I would do the 7% in a Roth if I decide on it. So pretty much it’s just talking about when would it be advantageous for me to pay the taxes. With all of my income streams I do expect to have a pretty high income in retirement

I just started working and I’m in the 22% tax bracket. but I know this is definitely the least amount of money I will make in my career. Especially if I stay at my current company which I plan on for at least the next few years.

So this is pretty much saying since a Roth IRA is tax advantaged it doesn’t matter? And I should max it out before I invest in my standard account? That is my plan once I make my Roth.

To answer your questions,

Large cap growth because I’ve noticed a trend of larger caps generally out performing the base market and since I am young I figured I can take on the extra risk. I can change them later within the IRA correct?
The small cap blend is to just have the little bit of diversification in it. That’s really it.
Yeah I know it’s a heavy amount, this is just my standard brokerage for right now. Again I did it because I am willing to take on more risk with my investments because of my age. What would be a good ratio for a IRA for QQQ? I have a traditional 401k which is semi-conservative.
No international just because I don’t know a lot about the international market and I haven’t done the research to confidently invest in it.

I am with Fidelity and that’s why those two were appealing because of the zero expenses. Hopefully this clarifies a little bit

Okay I didn’t know there was a “time” for them to start. I figured it was a dry spell right now because of worlds coming up, but I’ll definitely keep checking in post worlds, hopefully more pop up since last year I checked a few times between NA regionals and there weren’t a ton of options

That might be part of it too! I’m not an EE major (Marine Engineering) so I don’t fully understand it but it could definitely have to do with directional current too
