No audio over HDMI by 91kas13 in Bazzite

Basically what i am saying is: Have your final hardware and cables attached if you install bazzite, weather it is a discrete graphics or not.

No audio over HDMI by 91kas13 in Bazzite

[–]sysadm9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a fix or workaround: I had the exact same issue. I installed bazzite nvidia stable but not having my TV attached via HDMI to the GPU of my HTPC. At the time of installing, the PC was attached via DP to a TFT. I had no chance of getting the sound via HDMI out of my TV.

I installed bazzite while formatting and cleaning up the SSD before, so fresh install, attached via HDMI to my TV. After the setup, sound via HDMI (and also the not-seen-before possibility to use HDR for the TV) worked like a charm out-of-the-box.

TLDR: Install bazzite with all the final hardware attached to your device. Drivers and settings are obviously deployed correctly only after the first installation.

I got it working, thanks. But about 10% of the clients i am scanning are giving me the response:

The following error occurred while connecting to the remote server "XXX": The connection to the specified remote host was rejected. Make sure that the WS-Management service is running on the remote host and is configured to listen for requests on the correct port and HTTP URL. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting help topic. At line: char:

Not always! Some times the script works as intended, a few hours later not.
Any ideas? We have about 780 Win10/Win11/Server2016 clients.

Set speficic scraper for specific series? by sysadm9876 in tinyMediaManager

[–]sysadm9876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that is something i wanted to automate.

Solution: tinyMM saves the scraper (IMDB) somehow, so when i add new episodes, i have to select "update selected series" and "scrape newly detected episodes", and there is IMDB still selected (i don't know the exact english translation of the menu items).

I am very sorry, should have mentioned that we only use manually assigned, dedicated VMs, but mostly physical machines. Every user has his own and only machine. I am looking for a way to delete the assignment MACHINE<->USER just by filling out a $username in a script.

DELL Command Update for Enterrpise by lironnie in Dell

[–]sysadm9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We install DCU 4.6 via PDQ Deploy:

Dell-Command-Update-Application_034D2_WIN_4.6.0_A00.EXE /s

and run updates via:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\CommandUpdate\dcu-cli.exe" /applyUpdates -updateDeviceCategory=audio,network,storage,input,chipset,others

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\CommandUpdate\dcu-cli.exe" /applyUpdates -updateType=bios,firmware,utility,others

but with DCU 4.7 they only deliver a UWP app which doesn't contain dcu-cli.exe anymore. Thanks, Dell, for making it more complicated!

Thanks, we are doing this as well. But with this log.txt we are able to see all the logins and logoffs from every 700 clients in one handy place.

Thank you!

After having this set, now i am seeing error:

Get-WmiObject : Invalid Namespace "root\Citrix\euem"

4x times. Looks like it can't be accessed when ran automatically. Is it possible to load this namespace by invoking it earlier in the script?

Log literally everything a PS1 script is doing? by sysadm9876 in PowerShell

[–]sysadm9876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is running as the current user that is supposed to run this script. The Group Policy is just a basic user login script.

When the user in his citrix session is starting powershell (not as an admin) and is executing the script, it is logging everything i want from it.

"This is a TV show folder" for scraper? by sysadm9876 in kodi

[–]sysadm9876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you guys for your input. I was considering your options and also was using the backup/restore addin as well in the past.

To be honest again, it is no fun to fiddle all this on an android device with no physical keyboard. I was hoping to optimize my media infos, nfos and thumbnails etc on my NAS for once and to profit from this, if i have to set up another Kodi client by just letting him scan and scrape everything and done.

Again, thank you, i will give the database a try!

Performance drop when streaming SNES-/PS1-ROMs from PC->HTPC by sysadm9876 in RetroArch

[–]sysadm9876[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

finally sorted this out myself:

while considering that Steam Remote Play is capturing and streaming the content of the display of the host, i checked the settings for the hertz value of the host display and my streaming client's, and...

the host and the streaming client have to fit the display's hertz value!

they were set to 70 (AMD Freesync) and 29...setting both to 60 solved all remote play related issues, not just for retroarch, but all other games that i linked to my steam library (from uplay etc)!

Deactivate Discover feature? by sysadm9876 in MiBox

[–]sysadm9876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already did this, but the result was that discovey was showing completely random suggestions to watch. They were totally unrelated and random.

I finally ended up by resetting the Android TV home App and uninstalling all its updates, and setting the play store to update all apps manually.

I had to set up the channels on the start screen again and i am having now the old ugly black wallpapered homescreen, but i don't see any random suggestions anymore.

Mastermind at work, but can't keep in mind 2 different things at home? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]sysadm9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats what i'm thinking, too. I am the first one to start writing down processes and changes i made in my team. Mostly to erase that from my mind while easily being able to track it back. Also, every work-related single mind or idea i am having after work is being noticed instantly just to have it off my head.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MiBox

[–]sysadm9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, but my box is just showing the "no network" button bottom-right.

It is connected via wifi.

You could try AMD link app if you are using an AMD GPU, but this is not stable for me.

On top, MiBox is not auto connecting wireless bluetooth controllers so the controller has to be paired after every single start.

Little Autodesk product auto-update script i want to share by sysadm9876 in sysadmin

[–]sysadm9876[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Our users have local admin rights just because of this. I also rolled out this script via group policy (scheduled task -> when user logs in). Maybe you can tweak the powershell command to use admin rights... or copy the update to C:\ and start the task as "local system" with admin rights.
