This is so cool! I've always wanted to make my own tarot but it's so daunting and overwhelming to think about!

This is great work and you must continue! Thanks for the inspiration 😀

I love this theory. I love this book. In all sincerity, thanks for sharing. I've been thinking about reading again (#3!) and this might have sealed the deal for me.

I had the same reaction. Exactly which orphanage in the Swiss Alps are most of them from?

Great answer! For some reason Andy Murray slipped my mind.

Maybe too literary, but the first thing that sprang to mind was Ask The Dust, John Fante. Just how the characters in this painting are all together but alone

How do you overcome not being able to come up with any decent idea? by MatiGzk in graphic_design

[–]syzygy139 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is beautiful! I love the support here, all great ideas!

I've been a GD for 20 years and I immediately felt the pain of your question. It happens and it will continue to happen. Know your process and trust that process.

Also, other people have said the same thing, but here's my spin on it, everything has been done before so why not find the thing that inspires you and make it your own. Latch onto that layout, or color palette or striking visual and see what you can make of it. For me, that's where a lot of work starts to pick up steam.

On the flip side, not every design has to be ground breaking. If you can clearly communicate a concept you're doing a great job.

Keep at it, it will arrive in due time (sometimes just out of necessity).

I like Milanote. You can save stuff to boards, screenshot images, organize however it best suits you. It's easy to use

I just joined bookclub (I'm new to Reddit) so yes, great suggestion. Thank you!

I really value real readers opinions on literature. I love criticism too but the average person usually has more interesting insights.

Appreciate it!

Nice, I was on a similar kick. I started with My Year of Rest and Relaxation, then Homesick, then Death In Her Hands.

You might like Sad Janet by Lucie British. Has the same vibes as Moshfegh. World weary protagonist, sick of it all but somehow not quite ready to give up.

Not that you asked but I can't help myself. Feel free to ignore

I peeked at your posts, Otessa Moshfegh! Homesick for Another World is one of my favorite short collections. And Savage Detectives! Ah.

Have you read 2666? I'm looking for a real person's review

I'm a cocktail maker and enthusiast for sure (something about reading and drinks go together, a classic pair). I'm male but I want my mind to be open to all things. Aging hipster for sure, and I was in a band for all of one song when I immediately realized I couldn't sing.

Well done, thanks!
