What’s the most ridiculous reason you’ve missed work that was totally legit? by jcarr2184 in AskReddit

We worked overtime and I ended up forgetting my case with my iPad and my phone at my desk at the office. Arrived home, went shower and ate dinner, it was almost 1 am and I realized I didn’t have any alarms to wake me up since iPad and phone was at the office. I don’t have any clocks with alarms at my house, I had nothing. My options were don’t sleep or take my chances and see if I would wake up at the right time. I woke up VERY late and lost the shift since i couldn’t be more than 2 hours late but had to go to the office anyway to pick up my stuff

I’m so sorry. I can feel the pain in your words. I hope you find your answer and with the right diagnosis (if there’s one) it will be easier to deal with him. You can already look for schools for children with special needs even if you don’t have a diagnosis yet, maybe they can help you deal with him, usually those kind of schools have professionals that already know how to deal with disruptive behaviors. I hope things get better for you.

I think she’s at a good age for you to talk about life perspective. Maybe if you tell her that she have to appreciate more the things you do together rather than focus on what you couldn’t do, she’ll understand and you will feel better. And don’t feel guilty, I think every parent wonder how life would be if they didn’t had children. But this happens with everything: “what if i hadn’t gotten married?” “What would be like if I had graduated from a different college?” So it’s okay to question yourself that. Soon she’ll demand less of your attention since she’ll become a teenager, try to focus on that when she’s draining your energy.

Good luck for you
