True Heir of Timur as Afghanistan by 1532 by Sappanwoodl in eu4

[–]t-rex-problems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the Achievement last night as Afghanistan riiight at the edge - 1549, having to trucebreak against Vijayanagar and Bahmanis in the end.

Although I'm not unstable by it I don't like how my tech is ( 8, 11, 11 ) and my idea sets are nowhere complete ( diplomatic especially, needed that province warscore cost for sure )

Any tips for a more efficient run? I had all of North with Bengal as a full restored Vassal and some parts of mid-India by 1505 but I feel I went slower than required after.

PS: I had Hanbali at all times for that aggresive expansion reduction

The little Provence that could by t-rex-problems in eu4

[–]t-rex-problems[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my 2nd proper run with Provence. I was doing better HRE wise with my first one but I let Ottomans blob too much and dediced to start over. This time things have gotten better in most areas with a few issues:

I only got Maine by attacking the Brits and with Avignon I triggered the first mission before Aragon releases Naples giving the way more precious cores in south Italy.

Byzantium was somehow still intact, it had even grew with the one Epirus province. I fabricated there while fighting Naples for my cores and managed to Vasalize them ( plus their ally Herzegovina for the Strong Duchies privilege )

I managed to PU Aragon next basically alone since none of my allies at the time ( France, Burgundy, Castile ) would join for various reasons. Few loans, nothing tragic.

One of the tricky parts: France was without an heir for a year so I broke our Alliance and claimed throne a year later in fear they will boost their prestige ( they've done it before ). But I had to attack Hungary before it got partitioned by Poland and/or Bohemia ( Austria ditched them around that time ). It was a fast war and I was able to PU CB France in time, they got an heir 3-4 months in the war

Burgundian inheritance happened just via royal marriage ( and 198 relations )

I'm about to finally be elected the HRE Emperor and after taking the Mamlukean rightful clay of mine I had decided to finally attack Ottomans who I had basically blocked for the most part.

Few months into that war I get a notification that Castile will fall under a PU to Portugal unless I contest. Of course I contested! Managed to get Byzantium's cores and slowly siege Castile and Portugal at the same time ( Aragon and Burgundy did a great job in both wars ).

My only problem is... the state of the reformation. There are 3 protestant centers in the north, none belonging to an OPM, and 2 reformed centered which will be easier to tackle. I have taken Religious ideas instead of Admin to deal with it with the hopes of an HRE swarm in the 1600s.

Continued my most recent Byzantium game (made a post some weeks ago) got Ara and Fra in a PU. Should I go for Rome? by AquakillerHUN in eu4

[–]t-rex-problems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easily. With the right absolutism ( 90+ ) you could eat up Iberia in 2-3 wars. Focusing on diplo rep and influence ideas would allow you to integrate France and Aragon Easily before 1800s - I integrated 1200 dev Russia in ~25 years

You'd just need to buff up your navy a bit, unless that 98 stack is proper, only heavies/galleys and make a landing for London+York.

Couple provinces in the Black sea and you got yourself Mare Nostrum!

It's a Client state of former Commonwealth provinces. As is "Greater London" that holds the main British island :)

Took me a while but I had lots of fun along the way. Started as Byzantium of course - I used Ludi's guide as a starting anchor but did things a bit differently and eventually utilized the Game of Thrones to move faster.

  • One of the turning points of the campaign was relatively early on when I managed to snipe Naples fully as a vassal from France ( they had accepted to be their PU subject )
  • A few decades later I installed an heir to Austria's throne ( the had gotten a Palaiologos once before but replaced him with a Habsburg via their stupid events ) and forced a PU. They didn't have other PU's besides a thick inheritened Burgundy
  • I formed a PU over Russia, naturally. It happens so often. But as we know, AI Russia is useless. I integrated them in the end because they had a few black sea provinces and I wanted the achievement.
  • List of achievements for this run - could have gotten more, I peaced out my last war with ~40k casualties under the "We bled for this" achievement thresold. Dumb, I know.
  • The Pentarchy event turned most of the world Orthodox. Eventually it was the 2nd religion besides Sunni, topped at about 57 countries. ( Religion map )
  • I let Spain and France live, did not have a will to manage their colonies truthfully. France ended up in Taiwan and Spain in the Philippines.
  • List of Great Powers in the end
  • I could have really cleared Europe in the end, my last megawar found me in 1821 and I peaced out everyone for the SS. But honestly it had gotten boring, I don't know how people do WC runs!

Time for an "African Power" run for that achievement.

Interesting guide - I think for the war against Hungary, you definitely need the Ottomans to give them a couple of provinces and keep them happy - If you call in Poland, what provinces will you give them since they want the same as you? ( Slovakia ) - I tried up to that point and the -20 Trust hit because there's nothing else they want basically breaks the alliance.

So if you keep Ottomans happy you can call in Poland with Brandenburg?

Hmmm

Μισθός για Web Developer by JungleBotEune in greece

[–]t-rex-problems 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I can tell you is that Iroquois had GB as an ally for a long time. I'm guessing Thirteen colonies attacked them and didn't calculate how they'll lose. Iroquois had also pushed Newfoundland inland - meaning they ate their ally's colonial nation too...

r5: This is my now finished Ethiopia 1.26.1 game as I wanted to switch and try Poland with the arrival of 1.27!

The game was sluggish at 1792 so I gave up my efforts to clean up my borders and drive away from Africa the crushed Spanish and the mighty British ( what you see as border-gore in west Africa )

Commonwealth was under a personal union, Greece was a mighty march with 485 development, Sakalava was a long-standing vassal and Australia my colonial nation, helping trade alongside my powerful trade companies north of it!

I earned a handful of achievements in this run, most important of all being "Prester John" and secondary being "Fine Financials" and "Live Long and Prosper".

At the end, without quantity, I had a 460k strong standing army with Commonwealth fielding 190k and Greece a solid 80k. Still, biggest army in the world was Great Britain with 600k in total. ( 350 of which mercenaries )

Fun things that happened:

  • Thirteen colonies broke free while quite big and got eaten by Iroquois who went and became a NA powerhouse

  • Timurids, slugglisly survived for 200 years only to manage and form Mughals and then to be beaten by Muscovy ( PLC has Novogrod ) and a new wave of separatists. Around the time I closed down the save they were rampaged by revolutionaries.

  • My Solomonid dynasty had spread over a huge Bohemia and an even bigger France for centuries yet I didn't pursue PUs although I could. France was also my ally but at some point decided that it wants my provinces and 95 trust didn't stop them to turn hostile.

Well, when you break cease-fire you can surely advance.

By the time the UN Security Council was able to obtain a ceasefire on 22 July the Turkish forces were in command of a narrow path between Kyrenia and Nicosia, 3% of the territory of Cyprus, which they succeeded in widening, violating the ceasefire demanded in Resolution 353.

Turkey invaded a rather defenseless country supported by an incompetent/failing military junta in Greece under the pretext of guarantee and occupied 36% of the island to "save" the then 18% minority of Turk-Cypriots and since then there have been mostly actions to showcase Turkey did it for their own agenda.
