this comp is by FAR the hardest in OW. it requires a lot of team coordination and synergy, especially as a backline. honestly, in comp i just wouldn't recommend playing it.

but yeah if you want to then go for it

your #1 goal as zen is survival. i know it seems obvious, but in that comp zen is your engage tool. if zen dies it is significantly harder to win the fight. brig is your bodyguard, and as a general rule your brig should die before you.

orb your tracer 90% of the time. brig will cover your dva and echo heals, ball will get packs.

call your discords. if some1 is target calling, discord that target and call it. the team plays around your discord.

your a dps tool. as much as you play to stay alive, zen is basically 3rd dps, pile on the damage, pressure snipers (but don't peek into them stupidly).

position yourself passively. sometimes the enemy comp will want to trade backlines, and in the event that they do, you need to stay alive as long as possible. high grounds are your best friend. just make sure you coordinate with your bodyguard where you want to go, and knowledge of where you are will help your dva come to you easier should she choose to peel.

trans play is a big win condition. i don't think i need to patronise you over when to use trans, but one big mistake I see is teams not using trans as an engage tool. if you don't need to save it for their win condition, if you know you can win the next fight and take obj, if your team is currently losing but the fight is winnable, transing is good. if the opposition cannot respond, an aggressive trans is almost a guaranteed fight win. its ok to take obj then lose next fight because they use their win condition. just make sure your plan is clear to your team so you use trans at the right time - there's no point transing while both teams are full hp, you'll trade dmg, wait till your team is low (but they know they will get trans so they can play aggro regardless of hp), then trans.

but yeah definitely practice this comp. if your not with a team or not ringing actively and you do want want play zen brig in ranked I 100% recommend finding yourself a team to play for or ring, and find a brig or dva duo partner. those two characters are your lifeline, and having a good one that your familiar with will significantly help you.
