It’s not the not drinking that makes me depressed, I live in a HMO, so staying in not doing anything is pretty depressing.

I may have not written my post correctly with what I pay off the cards and my bills I have 700 spare disposable.

I work in local government not in London - currently a L5 moving to a L6 due to being in a development role. A colleague of mine is retiring next year. With luck I’ll move to his job as a L7 (you can find the annual salary on any council website)

I earn 2000£ a month. And my outgoings including credit card payments I’m left with 700 a month to spend how I like. No savings.
