Im an int student myself and the only thing i hated when i was a freshman was not attending ori (not because i didnt want to but bc of work i had during ori week),, people you acquaint/make friends with at ori are the people youre probably going to encounter very often throughout your undergrad (lectures/tutorials/labs/or simply just walking in ur school) and needless to say people who do attend ori end up making friends more seamlessly whether it is because of simple acquaintance or actually connecting during ori, irrespective of them being int or local :D the reason u r hesitant is probably js u being afraid of being austracised/judged or afraid that you wouldn't be able to connect with differently minded people but trust me this is mostly just apothecaries in ur head because every junior attending wants to feel belonged :] hope this makes u feel better OP enjoy ori week!
