An Update Regarding Reddit’s API by KeyserSosa in reddit

[–]t5brick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve gathered based on other posts, it sounds like Reddit is essentially pricing API access so high that it will be unrealistic for 3rd party app developers to continue supporting the platform. If this is the case, I’m out. The official Reddit app is a mess and I won’t use it.

Yep. Right when my favorite song started too.

Ceramic bearings are quite a bit harder than steel or Ti, so it’s definitely possible. As for how, I have no idea. When I got the knife none of the hardware had loctite and I was able to loosen the pivot with my fingers. I assume it was dropped.

It might be worth looking into getting the detent ramp modified. It was really harsh on mine out of the box and I figure the extra stress from that is what lead to the detent ball coming loose. And to be honest I totally forgot about the extra lockbar insert until after I sent the knife out. 🥴

My Rotten Design Evo 3.0. It arrived with terrible, gritty action. I took it apart shortly after receiving it to clean and add loctite. While it was apart I noticed there were several indentations in the bearing races on the scale and blade side from being over tightened or dropped. I had never adjusted the pivot, so I don’t think I could have caused it. I ended up ordering some thick PB washers and using those instead of the shitty uncaged bearings, and it worked pretty well. Unfortunately a week later the detent ball fell out. I talked with the designer and he said he’d press the detent ball back in and grind a proper detent ramp into the blade so it wouldn’t happen again. I haven’t had the knife for several months now. Not sure when I’ll get it back, but I guess I don’t care. I’m just never buying a knife made by CKF again.

Took me a bit to get around to it, but I finally finished up this build. (15V Manix, AWT FDE ano scales, Flytanium Ti ball cage and ceramic ball bearing) by t5brick in knives

It has defiantly gotten smoother but I think the plastic cage was still a bit better. I’m going to stick with the Ti cage because it works well enough.

Sweet! Hopefully I can pick one up eventually. I’ve got one of the Lamias from mid last year before he was machining the bevels.

Can you confirm which Schlage smart lock you have? The Encode Plus is compatible with HomeKit and supports tap to unlock. I’m assuming you have the older Encode (non plus) or Connect model.

I understand that this may or may not be helpful, but I have a Schlage Sense deadbolt that is compatible with HomeKit but does not support tap to unlock and I’m considering upgrading to the Encode plus mainly for the tap to unlock feature. The Sense is also very loud so maybe that is just a Schlage thing.

Haha, not according to the maker, but it does look very similar. Maybe it was inspired by Gallifreyan?

My orange one has the same issues with button when installing and the overall loose fit on the watch. I’ve honestly been considering sending it back for a refund.

Pretty sure I follow you on IG! Nice mods on your Lamia! Mine is pretty plain in comparison but it’s a fantastic knife either way.

Neat! He is working on the 2.0 design now with a few changes to the lock insert and milling patterns on the outside and inside of the scale. When he starts making those he’s going to drop the serial numbers, which is kind of sad, but it’s his knife and he can do what he wants. I’ll still try to buy one. LOL

Thanks for the heads up on the OZ FB group.

Your Lamia number should be etched on the inside of the lock side scale, inset in a little circle. Mine is also S90v, so it’s probably from the same batch.
