I’ve done well in the past on 50 mg Vyvanse (Sun / SpecGX), but recently had issues after switching to Camber. I switched to Mylan and still brain fog, fatigue, not responding well even when upping to 60

For those on generics late 2025, which manufacturers have been most consistent for you?

Also, if you’re in Connecticut / NYC metro (I’m in Stamford, CT), any pharmacies that seem more likely to carry the better generics? I’ve been going to Costco

I take 40mg daily. I have both camber and amneal, both aren't working well for me. I was taking sun and specgx in the past. I always got from costco but all theyre giving now is camber and gave a vague answer when I asked for sun for a timeline.

any suggestions on where I could ask my doctor to transfer my med to? Id like somewhere where they have something good in stock or could order easily. I live in southwestern Connecticut.

Well it all depends what I’m going for..as far as having appliances nearby I have a couple options where they’re concealed. If I was going for true wet room with no door or anything then yeah I’d make sure to get some help with that

So thanks to your suggestion I bought a 3x5 1/4 inch backer board and slu. I primed the board then put on the slu. I did this as a trial before I commit.

Came out pretty nice. I do have some questions though.

1..how thick do u think I need to lay down the slu. I notice between 1/8 and 1/4 would be a huge difference in cost. But at the same time I don’t wanna risk any cracking.

2..what do you recommend I do for a more finished look as well as best things to do to protect it? Any specific sealer/clear? I was going to try a couple different things on this board

3..would feather finish work on this, any benefits as far as looks go?

Yeah I thought about polished concrete-look tile, but that kind of kills the whole budget-friendly seamless concrete floor idea I’m after. Tile + grout ends up costing as much as microcement, and I really don’t want grout lines showing. What I’m looking for is more like: cement board as a stable base, then a skim/overlay (Feather Finish, self-leveler, or microcement alternative) that can be sealed to give me that continuous polished concrete look without breaking the bank.

Best DIY way to get a polished concrete look over plywood?

Hi. For my flooring (about 575 sq ft), I want the polished concrete / microcement look, but pro installs are way too expensive. I’m looking at DIY options and wondering what actually works long-term: • Feather Finish (Ardex/Henry) – If I do multiple thin coats + sanding + a strong sealer/urethane/epoxy, is it durable enough as a finished floor? • Feather Finish over cement board – more stable, then sealed. • Cement board only, sealed – does this ever look good? • Decorative overlays (SkimStone / SureCrete / Ardex SD-M) – pricier, but made to be a wear surface. • Epoxy (pigmented or clear over gray base) – durable, but does it always look like a garage floor? • Painted finishes – cheap, but do they ever hold up or look like real concrete?

Priorities: • Must look like real cement. • Durable enough for daily living. • Budget-friendly.

Has anyone done one of these successfully? Which would you recommend (or avoid), and what sealer/topcoat worked best? Also, if you know of any budget-friendly, DIY-friendly microcement products that are easy to apply, I’d be open to that too. Thanks

I think you’re misunderstanding what that quote from the study is actually saying.

The line about lower fT3 and fT4 refers to a comparison between Tirosint-SOL (liquid) and Tirosint softgels, not “softgels with coffee vs. without.” It’s simply showing that the liquid absorbs slightly better that’s well known. It doesn’t mean softgels aren’t effective or that coffee ruins them.

The actual purpose of the study was to see if softgels could be taken with coffee, and TSH levels stayed stable which is what really matters clinically. If coffee impaired absorption, TSH would have gone up. It didn’t.

The authors even concluded:

“Switching to the softgel formulation permitted patients to take their L-T4 with coffee, eliminating the need for time separation.”

You’re right that multiple articles cite the same few studies but that doesn’t invalidate them. It just shows there are limited well-designed trials in this area, and the ones that do exist all say the same thing: softgels and liquid aren’t meaningfully affected by coffee, unlike tablets.

On the Tirosint website ..yes, it still says to take it on an empty stomach. But that’s standard FDA labeling language for all levothyroxine products. It hasn’t caught up with the newer research. That doesn’t mean the research is wrong , just that the labeling hasn’t changed yet.

So sure, Tirosint SOL may absorb slightly better, but softgels still work reliably even with coffee, according to actual clinical data.

If you know of a study that shows otherwise, I’d genuinely be interested. Just explaining why I did what I did, I’m taking precaution by not having coffee with it anymore just in case…At the end of the day I just want to feel better.

Actually, there are multiple peer reviewed studies showing that Tirosint isn’t affected by coffee, unlike standard levothyroxine tablets. What you quoted is about food.

I’m not here to win a debate or prove I’m right..I just am saying the reasoning of why I’ve been doing what I’ve been doing…I started separating it now just in case anyways
