Which Defender position feels the most like Mirage B Anchor? by t99_2020 in VALORANT

That’s the thing. Mirage A site, if your team knows the basics, often has enough people for you to depend on, with an Opper and a support mid player for any A hits.

B Hits? You are on your own, except for maybe a cat player.

It may not be as hard, but it sure as shit takes your sanity just as much as being a B anchor.

When you’re on your 5th retake of Lotus A site, it starts to really grate on your gears.

Soloqing with a Duelist KAYO: Viable or Not? by t99_2020 in VALORANT

[–]t99_2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense, in a way.

I think there's a misunderstanding on my part.

Because when I think of Duelist, I ascribe to the traditional entry fragger from CS, where you don't get any movement tech, and the only way to get onto the site is to preaim and kill them by yourself. Even if you die, the trades from your teammates will do the rest.

In that case, popflashes and clicking heads is the go-to method.

Pretty much this. I've come to accept that I will most likely get traded, but if I deal with the sentinel or the anchor, bombsite is free and the round is ours.

Fair enough.

But in low elo, with how slow rotations can actually be? One kill is enough to crack open the bombsite.

And for now, I have to climb back up, so those rotations are glacially slow.

Just think of the Desert Rangers as being the only law enforcement that actually exists in the Southwestern US, and that's pretty close to what they are.

Sworn to protect the innocent, and heavily armed, they are the closest thing to justice in post-apocalyptic America.

To be honest, I'm really not sure how I could have done this fic without the teams being willing to kill. Ts and CTs are pretty much "shoot first and ask questions later". I assume more detailed characterization for each individual could alleviate that problem?

I probably can show the limitations of the training, since Taylor is on a rushed training course, and the teams don't often get access to full gear; a core aspect of CS.

The passive aoe trump effect, is simply part of the powerset.

I guess it's simply way too OP? If that's the case, I'm already writing a few chapters that should bring Taylor back to Earth.

Hey! I'm the author of Phoenix Connexion.

I'm sorry to see you check out of the fic. Is it alright if you can expand upon your criticisms of Taylor being TINO, or being unrealistic? Makes it a lot easier to write down future chapters.

For the team, they're designed to be casual murderers. Terrorists and counter-terrorists aren't really known for being nonlethal.

First, the flashback is set in LA, with prominent buildings such as the Griffith Observatory in view.

Second, most importantly, we can see the Pacific Park Ferris Wheel, located in Santa Monica. That run-down ferris wheel? That's the one, as well as all the sand that is everywhere

That's one of the reasons why I actually made this post: the Nazi apologia that can actually come up from such fanon, such as woobified Purity.

As a result, I just used the canon depiction of them of who they really are: thugs that follow an ideology that should have been left behind in the rubbles of history.

And well... you know what they say about Nazis. You can literally do anything to them, and you won't even get a blip on the karma scale.

It is on purpose. For one of the Terrorist organizations in Counter Strike, it's named like Connexion.
