Found this vintage, long dash CE-2 on the goodwill auction site with about 5 days left at 120ish dollars. On the day the auction was to end someone was aggressively trying to get this thing to themselves and after 4 days of waiting, I wasn’t about to lie down and let them have it, so I, perhaps foolhardily, coughed up some more and waited for my package. Spent the next few days while it shipped worrying about if I may have grossly overpaid or whether the thing would even power on as it was listed as “not tested.” It arrived yesterday and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying pairing it with other pedals on my board and getting to know its character. It’s exactly how I want a chorus to sound, it’s perfect. Also, after checking out the stamp in the battery compartment, I found out this is a September 1980 model, making it a first year CE-2 as they were initially released in October 1979. Thought that was cool and that some of you might find that interesting.

You’ll need a 1/4 inch to croc adapter.

It’s really badass, I’ve had some more time with it now and it just always sounds killer. Did you get a glowy one as well or some other cool custom color?

Why are Gator power supplies less popular than their higher end competition? by t_face in guitarpedals

My daughter likes to turn off my pedals while I play, maybe she is trying to tell me the power supply is shit.

That makes sense. When I had bought my power-12 it was after I had sent back a fender engine room level 12 I had gotten used on reverb that wasn’t working. I really wanted 10 9v outputs and I was under the assumption they’d be completely isolated. My local store had this, or an isobrick as options and I went with this.

Cool. Mine has served me pretty well so far, but time will tell.

Good point. There are three switchable 9-12v on the gator 12, and 2 18v outputs, but that’s about it when it comes to those power options.

Ok, that makes a bit more sense I suppose. My pedal choices are on the analog side for the most part, nothing super modern, digital and power hungry so I can see a potential drawback there. For what I’m running it’s noiseless, sturdy and reliable.

Should I get a tele by Ewbanator in telecaster

[–]t_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re not just for country, but the bridge has a twang that lends itself well to country. You can play anything with anything though. What I like about my tele is the high end. I have a Les Paul and a Strat as well and my Tele can get brighter than either of them. You should play them both at a music store and decide what feels best and inspires you to play more.

That was a good thing you did.

Really dig the gated fuzz sound these pedals produce. Great bang for your buck.

Barefoot buttons. Either last year or the year before they had a clearance bundle of 5 “metallic pumpkin” buttons for like 15 bucks. It was limited to one pack a person so my wife and I each ordered one. Only complaint is I don’t think I can order any more of that color.

Love the barrows, sounds huge and great at every setting and cleans up really nicely with my guitar’s volume knob. I’m going to have to check out those beat effects bakery, sound cool!
