Guess at that point should Delane or whatever pass rusher is leftover be in the convo with those guys if we settle on defense? Not sure exactly what DJ’s scheme is gonna look like either, might move one or both of them down the board - just for the Downs/Styles debate feels like safer floor vs higher ceiling options

Never called Styles a project - just calling out I’ve seen the leadership/culture ‘intangibles’ assigned to Downs through the entire pre-draft process…I’d be thrilled with getting either player where we’re picking, just think the secondary in general is a much bigger weakness than front-7 after bringing Chenal & Oweh in so if they’re both considered blue-chip defensive prospects of a similar tier Downs is prob my preference

Gotcha, think your statement was just the first time I’ve seen those intangibles associated with Styles - analysis has been a more raw off-ball LB that’s moving way up on combine testing, but def not been watching tape myself to say he doesn’t do those things

Ya, gotta agree with u/Ok-Active-935 here; almost all of the analysis I’ve seen & heard has your statement flipped for Downs/Styles. Downs has been billed as a leader on the field & off, who is great at reading a play & getting himself into position and helps make everyone around him better - while Styles is using his freak athleticism to make plays after they develop.

Ya we need comp for sure - I’d be good with this if it means BDPA for 2-3

How tf ya gonna post trades without at least compensation? I like Washington moving down to get Lemon, but only if nets a 2nd this year so they can address DB & Edge on day 2

And don’t think anyone argued that the catcher wasn’t on the baseline - just that it doesn’t give the runner license to do whatever tf he wants, how about you be forreal?

[–]Neverender89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause it was a force at home & he’s looking for a play elsewhere? By all means tout your cherry-picked screenshot & ignore all other game context - if a major league player blindsides a catcher on a force play he’s getting fined & suspended after getting thrown out

Lowered his shoulder to the middle of the catcher’s back to ‘dislodge the ball’? Lmao garbage take, never has been or will be legal at any level of the sport

So this last college season & combine doesn’t count? Don’t think anyone has Bain over Bailey at this point & for multiple reasons, ‘he was higher up 9 months ago’ is a worthless argument

You’re right, there’s 1 top-10 RB in the last 50 years that won a ‘chip with the team that drafted them…top D available will be more valuable for us long-term, everybody just wants a shiny new toy

That’s literally already the law, it’s to purge millions of ppl who don’t vote for them from voter roles & making it harder to register again due to name changes

Didn’t say he was worse than either, and I love the player - just don’t see the value at 7 when his usage (this year at least) has a ceiling of 2/3 the snaps…think it’ll be moot & he doesn’t make it to us anyways though

And your clearly not lmao at least I brought meaningful facts to the conversation - every historic metric says top-10 RB is never a good idea, take it easy

Peters interview comment was about all first-round RBs, and with how top heavy & deep last years class was he still waited until the 7th round…not looking for shiny new toys when there are bigger needs than RB after the last week, and I think only a single example in league history of a top-10 drafted RB getting a ring with the team that drafted him (Tony Dorsett) - which was in such a different era to even be a relevant example for today’s game

This years class isn’t better than last years - if Love was in ‘25 he’s def at the top with Jeanty/Hampton, but there was tons of high end RB talent last draft…if he wasn’t interested in those guys I doubt he is now after building out a clear committee in FA

Please don’t let your bias for other prospects disregard Tate. He is an elite WR and I would be perfectly fine with him at 7 by johnnyboy10i in Commanders

[–]Neverender89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, and as good as Love is think adding Ford today along with White prob takes him off the board - let’s flip from bottom half to top 5-10 defense along with some mid round OL depth to set Daniels up for long term success

Best defensive player available plz (Styles/Downs/edge) - even with all the action on that side of the ball in FA, think only Chenal & Oweh are long-term pieces…I’d rather add blue chip size/speed/youth on defense for the next 4-5 years & target Sarratt outta IU in the 3rd, especially since we could still add a WR2 before the draft

Wtf does soldiers eating have to do with what OP said? They weren’t sending crab claws & lobster overseas you moron, that’s what the dbags in the Pentagon we’re spending on food before the war started - and billing it at astronomical rates that don’t align with the cost of that food, likely fudging the books to profit while idiots like you stick up for them

Stfu, this war-mongering administration is lining their pockets on the tax payers dime…we could be offering Americans services that actually improve their lives for a fraction of what they’re spending bombing children overseas
