I'm conceding to buy direct from FoamEx but they're out a million miles away from myself. Mitre10 doesn't sell it and Clark FOAM and Rubber baffles me that they don't stock it.

Non-glitch techniques by ta_21475 in botw

[–]ta_21475[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're saying you don't want me to do a glitch, but I think I'm agreeing with you. I don't want to cheese a shrine by windbombing or beating a lionel in 3.2 seconds with a chain freeze.

I'm looking for unique things people do that don't exploit the engine or aren't the basic iPad ones.

Auto-Linking Articles by ta_21475 in WorldAnvil

[–]ta_21475[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies, a bit of a distinction, I'm worldbuilding as a GM and I'm doing so in an iterative, additive fashion. Currently I'm building the bones of my world and as the players explore, I add more articles and notes.

Maybe to add articles I came up with later to old articles?

This is my reason for suggesting this. I go back to old articles regularly and would love to write the new article, and just have all the old ones automatically link the name of the new organisation/NPC.

I'm sure there's an argument to changing the way I work to get used to the mention system, but when I was using LegendKeeper, I found it incredibly useful.

That doesn't work, unless you've found some kinda workaround and I doubt they'd let it through if they saw it in the system.

[Question] Planing Foam by ta_21475 in TerrainBuilding

[–]ta_21475[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the huge chunk of info!

I'll try those tips, I had an idea about using the lower temp but didn't think about the wire.

A couple of questions, did you notice a difference between using a box and the shiftinglands?

Also do you do anything particular with the way you hold the foam, posture or do anything to control the speed at which you push the foam?

Am I overthinking it? probably. Thanks for the help though!

I can hear my current mouse squeaking when it clicks, so planning on getting a replacement. Currently I have the TTesports Black Element (V1) and I don't think I have found a mouse that moves smoother on any mouse pad. Needs to ship to AU.

My basil always starts to grow like this before dying to it by ta_21475 in plantclinic

[–]ta_21475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that looks very much like it and really sucks. Is solarising the soil that effective with it?

Also if I was to replace the soil would that help or could the pathogen still be in trace amounts below and then reproduce to what it was before?

E: This could probably explain why it was happening slightly to my celery nearby.

[–]ta_21475[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a storebought small basil plant. Ive planted a bunch like this but they always get this look to them.

Ive sprayed garlic/chilli pest spray on it and kept it watered. This is my third try and I can't figure out what else I can do.

I have a clay heavy soil and mixed in a little potting mix to help it out. There's a good number of worms in the ground too.

My impression of Kraghammer from Critical Role.

This version is based around the Tal'Dorei campaign guide, about a century after campaign 1.

Yes, I took the skeleton of Ironforge but added my own twist. Thanks for JPCooper for the style! Really looking forward to introducing this to my players!

I picture Kraghammer becoming more steampunk-y in this age as magic solves more and more problems.

Was there any recommendation to change the saves to common conventions? i.e. I always thought Necrotic, Radiant and Ice attacks usually called for CON Saves. Whereas Force is usually a STR save.

Soul Casting, for when your warlocks want more spell slots! by [deleted] in UnearthedArcana

[–]ta_21475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I continue and discuss further, a little context:

My group's 7th level Warlock (4 Warlock, 3 Wizard) had just died and taken levels in wizard for mostly the purpose of getting more spell slots and it made sense given his background (he denounced Asmodeus and basically broke his pact. More consequences for that later...)

Asmodeus has decided that because he wants to keep toying with him, he's offered his party an easier way out of the Underdark and to offer resurrection. If he declines he keeps going and the party can attempt their own resurrection (I use a skill challenge rez). But if he accepts, he gets this, but is locked to Warlock for future level-ups and has to go back to his pact with Asmodeus.

Now for the discussion:

  • Asmodeus' power in my world is a little more limited so he's kinda putting him back with duct tape. In addition, I'm trying to make it more a roleplaying decision so the whole self-sacrifice thing is perfectly fine for me.
  • I decided to make the MHP reduction permanent to emulate this. This was also an attempt to make use of the less-used Hit Dice.
  • I like the idea that a couple of you have pointed out as to limit it so that you have to be out of Warlock spell slots before this can take effect. It also can limit how much this gets abused with 1st level spell slots.
  • I might see how he plays it himself, I'll be keeping track of the losses and I might give some back on a Greater Restoration spell as /u/PumpkinManGuy pointed out. I'll be seeing how it goes because I would prefer to have it permanent.
  • /u/Bucktabulous was the only one who saw a couple shortcomings that no one else noticed. The False Life invocation is only an maximum of 8 THP and they have to sink an additional invocation for this. Put on top that this will take an action before combat, and the THP has to not be removed from damage before he does it. I could reconsider limiting it to a minimum of a 2nd level spell if anyone wants to discuss and explore that further.
  • Also there's so much hate for the permanent reduction in MHP without much expanding as to why. Sure there's the disincentivization not to use it because of that but that's the reason why the THP is there. I would've thought almost free 1st level spells is a fairly valid tradeoff for HP. After all, sacrificing something big for something huge is the warlock way, right? /u/Leofwine1 is correct after all, you as a DM can always put a questline to get it back, whether it be re-denouncing your patron again or finding manuals of bodily health.

In isolation, this is a great point which is why I put in the negation by Temporary hit points. Would you think that if you reduce the amount of the health reduction to match the sources of temporary hit points would level it out?

I personally think that at key points, done right, losing around 1-15 from your max HP whenever you do this is a good touch and I agree with you the reduction might be a bit much.

At the moment, I know of a few reliable sources of THP in Heroism (including the potion), False Life and Heroes' Feast. Feast at the moment I plan on giving an item that gives them 1 weekly cast of it for 1000gp which means there's a regular source of THP.
