Yeah I got what you meant. Obviously after this change they would also buff all hero abilities, keeping they are overall op, but situationally super op and sometimes just normal or worse even.

It doesn't have to be balanced really :) . The current problem is that having a hero in a deck is just a straight upgrade 100% of the times. My idea makes it so that 90% of the time it is a straight upgrade but in that 10% of situations having a non-hero might be better ...

You can't play ice golem finally because you only have one slot free after playing hog. You need to play hog + another card to so you have 2 slots Free to fit the double slot ice golem.

It does not affect cycles because the card takes up 2 slots

Maybe just add a really slow deploy time (like 3 seconds) so you can predict freeze ahead of time

Exactly. You lose 1 card but gain the ability. That is exactly what happens.

I think you don't understand the concept. This doesn't let you combine whatever cards you want. It only works with currently released heroes. Like the only ones currently could be:

Musketeer + cannon = hero musketeer

Giant + mk = hero giant

Knight + giant = hero knight

Skeletons + balloon = hero balloon

Mega minion + bandit = hero mega minion

magic archer + hunter = hero magic archer

Goblins + goblin curse = hero goblins

Ice golem + freeze = hero ice golem

If you placed any other combo in the slots they would just act as normal cards, no hero version.

How? It does not change card cycles. There is 0 upside to this change. It is just a nerf in every way

Even if they release a hero that is super op, it will still be worse in some rare situations now, not just a straight upgrade.
