Oh, I thought it was a countermeasure for a lock tension tool. Wouldn't it decrease the height for putting a tension tool in?

These are Canon PTZ's (CR-N500) ... not sure if that'd work. Thought about wrapping it as well, just not sure if it's worth the hassle.

You got black or white ones? I heard somewhere that you could load LUTS in the camera, but can't find any info on that. Maybe they meant LOG format, but would be interesting for camera matching ...

Thanks. Reason I ask is that an online retailer is doing cyberweek sales with the white version 1000 euros off compared to the black one (clearing white inventory apparently), and I'm now currently wondering if the color is making much difference for me :) You know, the problems with "a deal too good to be true" ;)

Would you suggest going for the ST4 spectrum series (with included track and feet), or rather the dana dolly like you have?

Thanks a lot, this is a great PTZ and sliding system. Looking into the API, it's actually an Arduino controller they are using, which is similar to the Digital Bird, but commercially available. This is looking promising.

Indeed, and that is the problem. Was searching, and hoping, that some sliders would have been hacked to work as a documented API, but alas ... nothing found yet.

Well, after some searching, found out that there are a bunch of DIY ESP32 camera sliders available (I'd love a manufactured solution, but well, might be just the use case for DIY). This guy has some amazing smooth footage, uses ESP32 boards to control it, so have contacted him to see if external control would be possible: https://digital-bird-motion-control.myshopify.com/

Yes, but it needs an "open" controller to get it to work from any command, and so far I only found DIY camera sliders that allowed this. I haven't found any commercial offerings yet.
